[crystal ball]pass blackouts, recent volumes of new snow, overload of work for road crews, and weather forecast: this weekend's gonna be a shit show on the BC trade routes (and at the resorts).[/crystal ball]

of course, gimpy, i know that you know this. i hope i'm stating the obvious.

tomorrow should be fun at many of the resorts! anybody else have the rad stomach bug. it's taken over my family, slowly, one or two at a time. it's been pretty shitty [/rimshot].

I bet if I told caltrans I had a hotel reservation they'd have let me go. He did ask me what I was doing out there.

"Trying to get to work". This has always worked for me on 88.

I think there was like a foot of new.

    LOL, well played guys.

Thanks #9, that seals it for me, no backside tomorrow and questionable as to getting through the Spur in the morning means I'll be there Saturday with the rest of the kooks. Ch.10 should be epic tomorrow, get it!

    Heal up LSL!

    Will do.

I've gone from hoping the spur stays closed as long as possible, to suddenly getting antsy that it won't open up by tomorrow evening. I'm sure it will, but that won't keep me from being nervous about it. Keep getting screwed out of ski trip opportunities, February's already booked up, this is one of only 2 open windows I have to get some turns in at KW before mid-March.

still amazing skiing today but not quite the glory that was yesterday. bout 12' of light on top of 2 finger to weekend layer. boatloads of lifties digging and patrollers raising tower pads and yellow jackets moving signs and ropes and ........ skiing pow. i suspect that was their reasoning for not opening nv today. stage, olympic and nb all spinning for them so id say chances of a green light over here tomorrow are good

Hopefully Eagle Bowl can open if it's snow safe.

Anyone know what happened to the carpet next to the bottom of red dog. Someone claimed it was an avalanche, but I had a hard time seeing a slide path that would hit the carpet. I figured it was snow cat damage. Bit then again, the ladder on the tower next to the carpet was damaged too, maybe it was .

Pretty sure 88 never popped this afternoon. Turned around about 1. If it opened it was to let people come home with escort. Long way to go to get sloppy seconds at the Heave.
I'm cool with this, as long as you Kirkwood Bro Brah's stay away from Heavenly when 88 closes- TahoeBc

Troller I talked to today said the goal was to get Boulder, Stage and Olympic and North bowl going in Nevada, small chance dipper might go later in the day but I would not count on it. On California they hope to get Canyon running, but it will most likely be delayed. Saturday the Gondi, Ski and dipper should run.

Skied around 8K of beautiful untracked powder there today

I'd like to state that I think all the resorts are staying closed/having limited openings so that patrol can ski their faces off and save the rest of the pow for the tourons this weekend.

All the pics lately have been upside down. But the snow off our roof here came down just now.

Props to these guys for providing this stoke (and apparently having a blast doing it). Can't wait to see what the weekenders think when they come up to see tracks off their roofs and bombholes in their yards.

Gave up on FedEx around noon (the skis never came, big surprise) and drove up. By the time I rolled into Truckee there wasn't enough time for any resort laps so proceeded to shovel and run some errands. The roads around here are crazier than I expected- most of the roads in TD are practically one lane still.

Anyway, had some dinner, got back to the place and flipped on the Warriors game and the power went out 20 seconds later. Went outside and saw the sky had opened up a bit for the moon and figured why not?

The plow quit about half way up Ski Slope Way so the skin to the top of sunrise bowl / Donner Ridge was quite a bit further than usual, but it was worth it. My first time skiing pow at night and I have to say getting face shots that cover both your goggles and headlamp can be pretty disorienting. And fun.

God damn this snow is good.

The line to Comstock. Fortunately, we were at the front of that line.
