Word is that you have room for style interpretation on the Kartel line. None what so ever on the RES line. However, iggy has said himself that he likes the Kartel on the line and he's a directional skier, Billy Goat over Kartel kind of dude...
Not sure it's perfectly applicable to the Jeffrey...but probably.
So...I say go for it.
I can ether mount on the line with STH2 16s or have flexibility with attack demos. Picked up both, not sure which way to go

Thanks Jay. I talked to Scott to and he recommended going back no further than 1cm or so. A good mount with the existing holes on the STH2's puts me .75cm back so I might stick with that. Dark blue will go well with the veneer I think.Quote:

My wife loves her bday gift -- Jessie 108s in 171. It was a bit of hard sell because she is a very traditional skier (grew up skiing icy terrain of the east with an ankles together teacher/father) and slow to acclimate to new gear generally. Seen getting ready for lap 2 with her gals, weaving in between snowmachine tracks from the day prior (and I cringe at her skin mgt):

It's not in the catalog...it's close to the Steeple 116, yes. Slightly different flex profile based on the BG and same shape as Steeple 116.Quote:

Did you manage to get any days in on the Steeple 108s that you mentioned back in January? Any thoughts? Are there any changes to that ski for next year beyond the graphics? Difficult to tell if the tweaks to RES/regular sidecut transition that have been discussed apply to that ski or just BG, Steeple 116 and C&D.

If you owned BG already (which I know you do) the steeple 116 is a farther departure from the BG in terms of weight savings...especially as it looks like we may be having success with the new, lighter cores).
2018 skis will be available as soon as possible and are already starting production. That is looking like late April/early May at this time.
The reason I went "BG tour" over Steeple 116 is the stiffness aspect. Keep in mind the Steeple 116 will be substantially lighter than this "BG tour" pending the final results of the core testing.

I suspected the Steeple would be the ticket, for reasons you stated.
The core experimentation is a pleasant surprise. I know you guys won't go all weight weenie on us with this (thankfully), but it will be interesting to see what you ultimately come up with.

So, the more time I get on my Wren 98's, the more impressed I am with their versatility, even with tech bindings. Went to Alpine Meadows the other day thinking everything would be frozen over after the sun came out strong after the storm and I'd be on groomers until it warmed up later on, turns out it didn't get as warm as I thought and there was plenty of powder to chase. They continue to surprise me in soft conditions and chop for a ski that narrow. 2.5 days on the 184cm Wrenegade 108. Comparing to a '15/16 185 Cochise.
Refrozen chop and groomers in the morning, soft snow in the trees, slushy afternoons and a surprise pow day yesterday. These skis kick ass in all of those conditions. VERY stable in the frozen chop, and no deflection off bumps. I skied as fast as I was comfortable skiing and the skis never once got squirrely. Tree skiing yesterday was a blast, and I mostly suck in tight trees. They're nimble & smooth even at slower speed, and I could throw on the brakes in an instant. In the powder yesterday morning they were so fucking good. Not as floaty as my pow skis, but for the size/shape they killed it. I demo'd the Wren 98 two months ago and didn't click with it for whatever reason, but this 108 has the goods. If I had to find something to be critical of I guess I could say it's heavy"ish", but the 108 skis so well it makes no difference. 10/10.
