70 mess in not only not a State problem, it's not even a Denver problem. Daily 70 ski traffic isn't even 1% of the State population.

For me the numbers just aren't there financially for the majority of the State residents or even businesses to care at this point.

it's this simple, cdot and polticians put together a multi billion dollar outline of what they will accomplish, they ask the citizens of colorado for higher gas taxes, income taxes, and property taxes to pay for it, it goes to the voters, the voters say yes I want to improve roads and transportation or they say no. It's that simple, instead of being forced to pay more we are lucky to have the ability to decide.
Tabor simply gives us the power over taxation. It is funny because some of you see no problem with higher taxes and nice roads, but a large majority of people don't really care. I70 is just a white middle class problem so people can recreate and have an escape from the front range misery on the weekends.
as for the 70 rebuild through denver they are saying it will cost 2 billion, when it's done it will cost twice that, just another failure by cdot and polticians, just like the rtd fast tracks, where the people were lied to, get your heads out of your asses

But I did find demographic breakdowns. 8% are in the lower half of income earners. 42% are in the 3rd quartile, and 50% are in the upper quartile. Skiers aren't typically poor except for the locals. But is isn't a a 1%er thing. It is solidly middle class.
Something rarely considered here....what if the eastbound lane works better than expected and makes eastbound 70, 40 to 6, a non issue?
