Where is that? It looks so damn familiar.

Most (all?) Brit autos and motos were manufactured using "Lucas Electric" bits
The Lucas motto: "Get home before dark."
Lucas = Loose Unsoldered Connections and Splices
Let's not forget vacuum actuated oil dampened (dashpot) carburetors
A little dribble of marvel mystery oil in the cups first thing in the morning would make the rest of your day easier.
Yeah, that's the place. Not a recent pic though, I've been saving them up for a few years for when I eventually started this thread.
Yup - wife’s 69 MGBGT would blow an alternator diode every three months. And had an intermittent mystery battery drain. And I hated jump starting it - two 6v batteries wired in series located under the “back seat”.
But the worst day was when I pulled it out of the garage, pushed on the brakes and pedal went to floor. Yet another real wheel cylinder gave up - it’s like you had to service them when you changed the oil.
Back into garage, start beating on knockoff to release wheel and I see something dripping from the gas tank. Yup, gasoline.
Drain tank and first thing out is water. Drop the tank, take it to a radiator shop. Long story long, moisture got in, sank to the bottom and rotted out the tank. That exposed filler line and crappy filler cap are not designed for a wet climate like NorCal coast.
Closest wrecking yard with a tank was 50 miles away. And all I had to get it with was my Alfa duetto spider. And the “new” tank came from one that had been rear ended so capacity was reduced.
Don’t get me started on her ‘02 Disco…
As a former Triumph owner, I find this hilarious...
I learned early that I don't have the patience to chase/trace electrical gremlins.

Q: Why didn’t the British invent the personal computer?
A: They couldn’t figure out how to make it leak oil.
Its not leaking oil, its marking its territory
Why do the British drink luke warm beer?
Lucas makes their refrigerators too.
I laughed so hard about the two battery thing, I forgot about those. Why can't hey just make one battery?
The English just seem to be 10-15 years behind everybody else and then sometimes way out in left field.
Hanging on in quiet desperation is the English way....
No one told them when to run, they missed the starting gun
The cars are the same, in a relative way, but they're older
Shorter of breath and one day closer to death
^^^ yep.
And it's always good to have a spare

watch out for the libyans…
fact.
Attachment 502863 It's "only" a 633Csi and yes, it was likely a 5 speed judging by how it sounded but it needs new dampers and better springs. I'd still kind of like to have a 635Csi, such a beautiful car and they drove like nothing else at the time.
In the Freddy's parking lot before we left Spokane. Google says it's a Toyota Coaster, Japanese import with RHD apparently.

That is about a 1990 B20? They are about $6k-25k plus shipping and fees from Japan. Some are manuals but all are right side drive and you get the one sliding door on the right. Mostly you get people movers but they have some campers like that. Some are 4wd. There's a gen before and after that one.

Same body style as that one...

Heh. I had a Series II. Pretty car that got lots of compliments and was generally fun to own until we couldn’t run down all the electrical gremlins that kept at least one component inoperative at all times.
That’s my favorite.
Really, that was well done fellas.
Look at this thing! It's perfect, no notes. 11/10, well done. Was there a Matchbox that looked just like this, or am I imagining it?

gotta corner like a fuckin' dream with all that downforce...
fact.
I'd drive it
Maybe thinking of the A Team van?
Attachment 504245
Thanks for posting that video. It gave me a moment of peace in my way too busy world.
My dad customized an '82 Chevy short wheelbase van like that. V8. Black. Black flares and running boards. Aluminum wheels, wide tires. One fold-down bench in the back for a bed, and a refrigerator/stove for camping. It was dope. Everyone called it the A Team van, but it was better. I asked him if I could take it to Prom and he said: "There is no way you're showing up at your girlfriend's house with that Sin Bin."
I try not to think of it as a leak but more of a self lubricating chassis.

The good thing about an oil leak is you you never have to change the oil, just keep adding quarts as needed.
There was one for sale here pre-covid, original owner. Complete with 8-track and macrame' curtain. It was super bitchin.

Those are kickass vans! I Skied Bandini: missed opportunity lol. What were they asking for that gem?
Asking $9,000 IIRC. We're out of garage space or we would have grabbed it.
Camaros and vettes can get fukt, an OG shaggin' wagon is my dream midlife crisis car.
