Major beer brewing seminars going on in Vt for last two weeks. Mr. Lawson and others in attendance.
Unfortunately no, too busy at work and mom is not doing well. Had a micro brew buddy went on a beercation up there last week. He always brings back a horde and looking forward the tasting.
Had quite a few different brews as of late but these two stood out:
Granville Island Mocha Porter, so so good hands down the best coffee/chocolate added I've ever had, perfect blend of flavours, I can't recommend it enough.

Howe Sound Pothole Filler Stout, definitely the darkest beer I have ever seen, even my LED flashlight can't penetrate this black brew. Really strong & thick, lives up to it's name for sure.

If weather cooperates I hope to brew this week a double chocolate milk stout that I will dry nib.
Last night's menu:
Oakshire Espresso Stout
Left Hand Fade to Black
Avery Out of Bounds Stout
I'm a big fan of that Oakshire Espresso Stout
Is nitro gas itself expensive? My FIL has a nitro tap but has it set so low the beer is flat.
You still have to carb the beer to proper levels with CO2, nitro or beer gas is really only meant to serve.
Beer gas requires a special tank, regulator and tubing all being different than CO2.

Local small batch brewery from Veneta. Haven't drank in two weeks-> thought it was due time to treat myself.
I'll report back (waiting on a friend)
Edit- it was very clean but a little bland. Perhaps I'm more a espresso stout guy but this seemed like a dark colored brown ale

This is new to me. Not bad- a little hoppy if anything
I had a couple Deschutes Obsidian Stouts on nitro at the local pub the other night. It's like a completely different beer on nitro draft. Delicious.
What do you guys think of the Bourbon County stout. I remember when it was great till about 2014 and it went downhill after. Oh the memories.
I just knocked out a bottle of '13 a few weeks ago. Delicious.
Spent eight days in Haines. Just got back. Snowed the entire time so only a crappy 1/2 day of heli time ☹️. Local Haines Brewing makes a really good Stout (and other beers too). Became addicted to their Stout. One of the better ones I have ever had. Very drinkable. Great taste. Can only get it in Haines or for a few months in Juneau. I highly recommend it if you find yourself up there.
Current version is meh

While not a true stout, Bent Paddle Black Ale is at the top of my beer list right now. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...14acf838cd.jpg

For those of you in the know....I've got 4 of these coming in December.
At $25/bottle...I'm not too happy, but after having a few glasses these past few years, I find it a good investment. Also looking forward to Goose's BCBS this Friday. Cheers.
It's better than their pils https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/201...6be5747f0c.jpg
