Mostly Fortress & Lake Louise, Ab with a bunch of time at Fernie Snow Valley from age 4-18 and then on to Whistler for 7 years.
Sad that I still suck at skiing.
Took my first and only lesson at Quarter Dollar hill at Sun Valley. The rest of my learning came from Bogus Basin, ID--the coolest mountain ever.
Another Pennsylvanian here:
first turns at Jack Frost
then stomped around a ton in middle school/high school at
Montage
Big Boulder
Elk Mtn
If anyone from the area knows of Country Ski & Sports in W/B, I used to work there.
WP/MJ, an old buddy's parents had a condo up there. First turns on Bill Wilson's Way.
I loved French ski school. First of all, I learned to curse out the Brits in ways they couldn't understand. Second, and more importantly, I got the glued-ankle steeze.Quote:

Places such as Sierra Ski Ranch (now Sierra at Tahoe), Boreal Ridge (pre-snowboarder takeover), Sugar Bowl, Flatstar, Alpine Meadows (pre-avalanche wipeout of the old base area), Squaw Valley, Donner Ski Ranch, Heavenly Valley, Kirkwood, Bear Valley, Homewood and a few others...
Parents bought me a trampoline too so that was where I did the bulk of my training.
Cali representing!
First times on snow in Kings Beach Skiers left of Fox Street. Then many days on the 3rd hole of the Brockway golf course. My first rope tow and lessons were at The Papoose Squaw Valley Ca.
2nd Grade we moved to Timberland so Homewood was my area.
Then moved to Incline So Ski Incline and Mt. Rose from then on.
I graduated to Afton during Middle School ski club. That place seemed big at the time too. I'm forgetting names, but it was super sweet to point it by the lift in front of the main chalet, air off cat track into the bowl thingy and then jump on the other side of the bowl.Quote:
