those snow levels are encouraging. it should add a nice layer of sierra cement to the resorts.
it is still pouring at 6500 feet as of 6pm.

Just got some beta on Kirkwood. It's been snowing at the base, not raining. It's some nice sticky Sierra Cement, which means things are getting the perfect early season plastering. Hardrider was blathering about bottomless blower yesterday, but he's been hittin' the crack pipe. Based on what I heard, you should definitely bring your rock skis if you're going off trail. Or if you want to get all 666 stylie...then just bring whatever you like. :D
Their website is predicting only chair 5 on Thursday, but I'd say there's a reasonable chance 6 might open too. It's taking a while to build up enough snow on the exit ramp, and so it depends on whether they can scrounge up enough and/or what happens with the weather between now and then.
Pray for snow, and I'll have a 1st hand Heav report tomorrow.
Nice report...just so long as Chair 6 opens by the weekend. If it doesn't, then I'm touring....Quote:

Probably going to end up being my Stockli's as I can't sacrifice the Bro's or the new Spat's....but shit, they have Freerides on them..I hate those bindings....oh well, fuck it. Sorry to all those who expressed an interest in my DP's when I mentioned a while back I might be selling them :the_finge .
That sucks. I'm stuck at Mt Hood with 2 foot freshies. But my heart is at the Wood for opening day.....Quote:

Frankly, I wouldn't mind it not opening right off the bat. Then I won't get a call from AKA on Thursday saying, "Too bad you had to work today, cause it was FUCKING SICK!" You know he'll do that, the bastard. :DQuote:
