In other news I discovered the Swingplane App, for $2.99 I got to see my swing for the first time at age 47. Good thing I have a strong constitution!
How my vicious yank straight down at the top of the swing can produce a draw, well I have no idea.
Maybe I will figure out how to post the video with the lines.

I own both a Ping Anser (2001 edition) and a Scotty Cameron Newport 2. They're pretty similar looking, but the feedback and distance control is significantly improved (for me) with the Cameron. It's not even close.Quote:

Scotty now does a little more with weighting than older Ping's in general. The brass ones Ping used to cast were great for their time. Now with moveable weight ports (in all the new Scotty Cameron's), you can adjust length, then lie angle, then fix the swing weight to suit. Even if you play stock, you can add or remove weight as you see fit. All those different milling and threading work adds up fast, margin is small on putters.Quote:

Nope. I bought the Cameron after borrowing a friend's for a few rounds and found my distance control was much better. So I wasn't invested in it at the time (i.e. when you spend a lot of money on a club you want to like it). Then I bought one and haven't questioned the move since. They give more feedback.Quote:

I know scratch guys and former tour guys that literally practice their putting stroke for 1-2 hours PER DAY...doing drills against walls, etc, just to create insane muscle memory.
I am never going to be that guy. But, if you are between 30 and 36 putts per round, a putter probably won't be a meaningful change compared to practicing your stroke.
By the way, the Fatso grip is hilarious, hasn't improved my putting to date (hasn't hurt either), and is a nice conversation piece - and getting it in and out of the bag isn't a big deal.

Thanks for the info about the Scotty's, I did notice the weight ports after doing some research. I switched 2 years
ago to an Odyssey, a smaller version of the #7 called the white hot xg hawk, the insert in the face is very "hot" and
it takes much less effort to get the ball going. 3-4 footers I barely even have to take the club back, way less margin
for yipping.
I played a lot in the 90's, at least 1-2 rounds of 18 a week and 2 days at the range, now I play about 5 times a year,
and given the lack of public facilities here, I probably only get to practice 2-3 times a year. Still enjoy it and I get to play
some nice courses here as the guest of employees.

In any case, swingplane app has solved my greatest flaw, cupped wrist, over the top, then back on plane super loop.
Spent the last 2 hours in my warehouse hitting plastic balls off carpet and filming, l am now literally on plane all the time, and I know its indoors with plastic balls, but once I dialed it after an hour, the swing is really repeatable, also figured out how to keep from raising up a little in the backswing. Can't wait to try it out on the range.
The only lesson I ever had was grip and address when I was 15. Swingplane is the best 2 bucks I have ever spent.
Golf trip to Michigan next week. 10 rounds in 6 days. I'll post pictures and reports. Haven't played in a few days to try and clear a knot in my back.
^That sounds pretty sweet. I've already got the go ahead to plan a golf trip next early summer. I have no clue where to go; there's so many sick choices.
