I still want to try it. Back in the first few years, I picked up a bottle regularly. It’s been hard to find, and I’m not a secondary market fan, so if I see it in a bar I’ll get a dram.

I have half a bottle of Act Ten, Scene 4, that I will give to the first person to show up at my door and says, "change for a rupiyaa".
Just the bouquet makes me cringe.
High West is making a KILLING off MWND. 189,000 bottles, $109 wholesale and $150 at the distillery according to the article. Avg price of $130 assuming 50/50. That's nearly $25M. Heck, even if they sold them all wholesale, they'd be grossing almost $21M.
I'm seeing act 11 going for $190-$200 on a local bourbon trading group (tons of bottles available, not a lot of takers). Hard pass even at half that. Like PB above, I still have an open bottle of 10.6 which will take me at least another year to kill.
Putting the price aside, the above bottle of Act 11 tasted pretty damned smooth and delicious. Would I buy another bottle for $125? That is a lot of coin for any bottle of anything in my mind.
Constellation is the "Vail" of the spirits industry. Everything is overpriced. Rob Sands definitely did some research into HW before purchasing it. HW and Vail in the same town is a match made in heaven.
Sorry, but can't get into High West or Yellowstone.
Latest go to is Elija Craig Barrel Proof C923.
Did do a shot of Stagg 23A last evening for a friend at his celebration of life. Fuck Alzheimer's.
That c923 batch is mighty nice. Even with the most recent price increase, Elijah barrel proof is still the best value in domestic whiskey today
The Yellowstone store picks are really good! I've heard their American Single Malt is a really good bottle if you're into that kind of thing. Their yearly special releases at $100 blow away most MWND, Birthday Bourbon's etc. And they usually just languish on shelves at MSRP.
I opened up a Russel’s 10 yr at work today. I cannot find anything to criticize about it. Just a near perfect traditional old school whiskey. 10/10

fucking hell, this is the best bourbon I have ever hadhttps://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...9985523b2c.jpg

Came across this today in my LLS. Without comparing it to earlier bottlings I’ll just say it’s really fucking good.

Agreed. It's a good one that should be included in your rye quiver for the cold winter ahead.
In the meantime, with the limited selection of bourbon at the LLS, I've been drinking a lot of MM French Oaked # 46 lately. Tasty and the price is right.
Gadget came over for Thanksgiving. He brought this with him.

90 proof
Went to a Christmas party tonight. The host broke out a bottle of Stagg Jr. 132 proof. I can honestly say that it is the finest bourbon that I have ever tasted.
I like Stagg Junior as well, but prefer Lrrceny barrel proof as I really like wheated bourbons.
Heaven Hill bottled in bond is pretty solid.
Scored it and a Bookers 2023-3 at the Virginia drop this weekend. Lady in front of me grabbed the last Shenks or it would have been mine. :-(
Still awaiting ECBP C923 to hit Idaho. Anyone have one they’d want to trade?
Only have one (open) bottle but speaking of C923, I put it up against the other ECBP bottles I have (A121, B519 and a private stock) and C923 easily came out on top. One of the best buys out there right now for $70.

Finished off my bottle of EJ C923 with the family at Thanksgiving, and it was superb - one of their best.
Here was the turkey day line up.

Right now I’ve stocked up on Knob Creek 12 for the remainder of the holidays. Very, very nice - recommended.
Y'all are killin me!
I’ve read complaints that Larceny BP is inconsistent, but I’ve liked the two bottles I’ve had. I’m seeing it more consistently now, too. I’m not much of a Maker’s fan, but their cask strength has been my go-to wheated bourbon.
I came across Pikesville last month. It’s been a couple years since I’ve seen any in Montana.
Went with my gut and was not disappointed. The bottle just spoke to me:

Wanted to try something from this thread but scrolling and looking at shelves was getting me nowhere.
Definitely best bourbon I’ve tried so far.
That's not bourbon.
But Rye is always better than bourbon.
Rye, like Islay scotch, gives you a little taste of being slapped by a jilted lover. But you just can’t help but go back and beg her for another chance. Bourbon, OTOH, gives you a sense of being kissed by your incredibly hot middle school teacher.
Paying homage to the Buddha of Bourbon with some close friends, and killed the first 2 bottles of RBB and RBR, so needed to grab some backups.Attachment 480344

Stopped to drop off Xmas cookies to the ladies at the LLS. One went in the back and brought this out. Their only bottle. Anyone tried it? Is it worth $94 ?
If you dont want it, buy it for me and I will compensate you plus a finders fee.
