They aren't for every day, or most days, but I sure like them on a day like today. Spats barge through the heavy pow, plus I get to free my heel; what's not to like? Here they are today, somewhere in the JP zone...

Also, it's a legit question. There's quite a few gated ropelines at Snowbird where shitloads of people just duck the rope if the gates are open and Patrol doesn't make much of an effort to stop it.

Quick hitter at Alta. Got there to catch backside but slid around to gunsight>suzies. First through and creamy goodness. Got hot (collins board reading 44 at noon). Things set up wet, going to be interesting if it freezes

Just got into town this morning. Missed the fresh snow, but it was warm and soft in the Canyons. No lines anywhere.

It was pretty wild how visible this crown was from the backside gate. Yoooge.

Covid effects have mostly dissipated, would love to see tfw, dibs, etc down SLC way en route to Silverton.

I knew something was up when I saw the heli circling flag/cardiac while on the rope. Didn’t feel right. Glad no burial but holy pucker.

Stepped off the slab as it started moving, this was a non event for me.

There's always going to be people willing to ski things I think are unwise. But the tone of some of these recent reports, the totally cavalier attitude and insistence that luck wasn't the main factor in their survival is really shocking to see in plain text.
