My commute from Blackfoot to Driggs thats usually an hour 20 took 3 this morning, and 33 was the best part of the drive. Got pounded by lightning while snowing in the snake river plane all morning. Pretty surreal.

Jhmr just called it for the day (minus eagles rest and teewinot)
And the rumor is eagles wasn’t gonna run either.
We decided the tram probably wouldn’t fly so lined up at bridger instead, and finally pulled the plug on the village around 1.
Be back tomorrow. We’ll see if anything goes then.
Might be a long shot, but anyone have some sort of discount for grand targhee? Happy to return the favor with a discount for IKON destinations. Not sure I wanna brave Jackson tomorrow.

There are those who will fixate on the poles; others will see the powder. :)

Why people would stand in those ungodly lines puzzles me. Is that supposed to be fun??
Just arrived after an eventful 17hr drive from The Great White North. Looks like it should be worth it!

these comments are lame.
you spend all kinds of money on airfair, hotel, etc. you come thousands of miles, you get all your shit on, grab the bus head to the vil, you get to the resort stoked to ski pow but lines are a shit show (surprise, other people thought it'd be fun to ski pow today too). They may open the lifts in a bit, they may not
what you supposed to do? turn around because 'why people stand in those ungodly lines, is that supposed to be fun??'
We actually had a great time in line. I mean, you can sit there miserable or you can entertain yourself. I figure it’s more fun to have fun. Snowball fights, snow sculpture, built seats, foot and skate races, ski spinning etc. Good time on the group W bench.
It almost looks like he’s falling forward

Busiest day anyone can remember at the ghee.
More lines.
Not hearing so many bombs at the village, a bit concerning for lift openings

Was a pretty good day for a first day mtn sledding. Didn’t have to go far to find plenty of freshies. What a workout, I’m cooked.

Nice to not feel the powder panic this weekend.
Ghee was a total gong show today…. As expected significant wind fuckery with isolated sheltered pockets of creamy. Definitely a ‘Meh’ Powday IMO. Snowboard was the tool of choice today. Parking at capacity by maybe 9 with 1 out 1 in…. All that said still a fun day
Exactly. The wind fucked it, definitely still a good time but not what most people were expecting. Attachment 489136

Fucking awesome day at the Village today. Mostly oatmeal or heavier, especially down low. It was hard work, but if you were willing and able it paid off in a big way.
Lots of airs and big hits in the group, even some for the older folks. We found bombholes and made bombholes, baby. Hit some chutes that had not been filled in enough to hit before.
And carnage everywhere as far as the eye could see. Place was literally walk on lifts by 12:30. People go tired or frustrated or cold or all three? Dunno.
Saw a kid in blue jacket and white pants launch a cork 7 above the Thunder maze while it was still pretty packed. Didn’t end great. Saw him much later at the base with an eye patch wrapped around his head. Bummer. If someone who knows him reads this, props for the huck. Good to see him up and mobile.
Edit: already on TikTok of course. Knee to face.

We love sunglasses on a power day!! :)
In the event that isn't snark, I'll answer: yesterday's snow had some density to it (8%?), which is a lot for 2'+... required getting really far forward to keep it moving. At one point I came to a stop straightlining a 30-degree slope. :) (It was starting out, but still... we laughed.)
SOOO good out there today. New, light snow on top of all the snow that fell yesterday.

Super fun day for sure, but sorry I brought the Sierra snow density to the Tetons. This was anything but the blower I was praying for. Went bell to bell, got lucky w line cutting, and there was a lot of new snow, but not the quality I dream I'm always missing by being a Sierra skier. This was quite a Mammoth day, and even then I would say thicker and denser almost than Mammoth, more Tahoe esque.
