Precision bombing is the opposite of carpet bombing. Israel uses mostly 250lb GPS guided SDBs to target a specific building or part of a specifically building, attempting to distinguish between targets, employing weapons discriminately as possible. People still die. It's terrible. FAR less die than with carpet bombing. Precision bombing is why Hamas locates their weapons and operations in the most vulnerable and dense civilian locations, because otherwise Hamas couldn't ensure civilian casualties occur too. It's horrible.



Your assumption is that they haven't already been gathering intelligence and paying people to snitch?

How are you going to "evacuate the civilians?" Remember, Hamas has forbidden this and actively blocked it. What happen when Hamas mixes in suicide bombers and shooters with the civilians?

Do you think Hamas is looking to fight a battle on an open field away from a city? Surely you know that is not the case.... so do you actually believe that going into house to house urban combat with troops, machine guns, mortars, rockets, tanks, and artillery is going to result in a lower death count and less destruction for Palestinians that precision airstrikes? Do you know anything about the last 100 years of urban combat?

Just keep using the same GWOT tactics that have done nothing but solidify terrorist positions that the western allies are the great Satan. Keep that war machine humming because we’ve tried nothing else and we’re are all out of ideas. Keep dropping bombs that do nothing to kill ideals and zealotry. That's because they're not much interested in improving the lives of Palestinians. If the goal of the illiberal media war is removing Jews from Israel then the Jewish response to that kind of hostility can only be "we're never leaving Israel, especially if we're not welcome with you!"

The bigger and much harder debate Israelis need to have among themselves is over what policy will usher in an era peace for Israel.

Maybe if we dropped tins of gummies and whatever else drugs you guys are taking in the insomnia thread, things would calm down a bit over there? Sleepy time gummies have to be cheaper than missiles.

I don't know if your statement is right or wrong, but based on WHAT exactly? Seems at least the people at all the rallies around the world are actually pretty stoked on Hamas. I haven't heard ONE person from that side of the aisle condemn Hamas. Not even our illustrious "Squad."

A few things I think Israel can do to weaken Hamas:
- massively increase the number of work permits for Gazans. There were something like 20k issued before 10/7. And make the permits easier to get. And make it easier to cross into Israel to work, or receive medical care.

- end the blockade of Gaza. Doing more harm and plenty of munitions are still getting in.

- Agree to quit building settlements in the West Bank. And take some of the newer ones out.

- End the occupation of the West Bank, except for Golan.

- Get rid of Bibi.

On the Iran front, the more it can be isolated from the rest of the Muslim world, the better. At the same time, there’s gotta be a way to bring them into the peace tent (other than wiping Israel off the map). Wish I knew what that point was.

The problem is that there's really no solution to this. Israel is surrounded by 300 million arabs that hate them.
