They even opened another run on Sunday (Castle Peak, off PromisedLandLift).

I hiked it a few weeks ago and posted a pic here a few pages back. It's "open" - not technically, but lots of people are still doing it. I've been riding alpine a few days a week and there are cars parked at the trail head every day.Quote:

Hit a rock and got a surprise. I ended up climbing out instead of going down. Waste of elevation at that point. Tough climb in deep facets.
Had fun on the KW reefs today. A little bird told me Sentinel might be fun. Lots of opportunity to live out your Powdork billy goat fantasies. Groomers are better than 3 weeks ago. We need a storm.
5 Lakes should always be open, given it's a wilderness area. There may be some access restrictions coming from the Alpine TH, as the trail crosses private land. Depends on the details of the easement. Some wildernesses have permits - 5 Lakes is self-issue at the TH. If there's none, I just go. Pyramid S ridge looks pretty bare if you're willing to schlep to SLT.
