Agreed that the BG/WD108 setup is a really complimentary pairing. Both are super intuitive and playful with a more neutral stance. Woods feel stable and agile everywhere, but don't charge as well on steep and/or deep, which is where the BGs come in. I actually feel like I carve my BGs on soft groomers better than the WD108s, just cause the woods are more slarvy.

To the groomer point, it is mostly a point being kept alive in this thread by everybody saying that it is not a problem, and thus - since "not" cannot be processed wrt memory, people remember that "wasn't there something about BGs and groomers and sucking?". If we could change the incredulity of people having to figure out how to ski them on groomers to just stating repeatedly "two foot arcs ftw" then the myth will probably die rather quickly as I think everybody is in agreement here - they do fine on anything other than bulletproof. :)Quote:

in other news, I decided to take my wren114 out for a full on day of touring. They are mounted with Shifts and I used my xt3 130s. It went pretty well. A little bit heavy on the up, while hilarity ensued on the way down. I did not make it all the way up to the top, or rather - decided against it. The snow was getting pretty wind affected, the sun was on the down and my legs were kinda tired after breaking the trail for myself, so decided to play it safe as I was on a solo mission.

What can I say - the Wren114s is a frekking fantastic ski imho - so stable and predictable, yet easy to whip around in denser woods/minigolf terrain. Mine are 179s for my 175cm self, so not super long - but big on fun.
I have seriously been considering if I should pick up a pair (or two) of ON3P touring skis this summer. Right now persuding Iggy that building me a wren108t + wren114t is something he should do seems like a good idea. Time will tell what ski/skis I end up favoring (if I decide to make the switch from Völkls). I plan on doing the same with BGs and the Woodsmans, big days out to get a feel for how they tour. Plan to do the same tour tomorrow with Katana VWs in 177 w/Tectons to compare. If my legs can take it that is :)

Finally got out on my 108 BG Tours. Love them, perfect one-ski touring quiver I think. Definitely punch above their weight in float. Definitely don’t feel heavy at all.
I might Try these in the resort soon, I suspect the tour layup still will be decent and not get bounced around much in variable

worked the shit out of my woodsman96 in soft windbuff to knee deep today and loved it. it’s also my favorite bump ski these days. the 187 can swing pretty big for its size and ease of use

I had such an amazing Jeffery108 day yesterday that I am once again debating switching my BG for the fattest Jeffery. Whatever that may be at my time of purchase.
This is an exercise I repeat every couple of years. So don't make it effect your purchases. I think it speaks more to how fun ON3P skis are.

I also must admit to miss Jonnie Merrill being on ON3Ps. He is such a strong skier and a joy to watch, though Line will probably treat him well too.
