It's those boots, the mono-cock skis, and a few other major fuckups (see mags vs. the first iteration of Salomon pin boots) that make me distrust the Salomon Shift.
I know Cody and Chris are great dudes, but the previous penchant Salomon had for marketing-hype instead of quality or safety, and the associated productions short-cuts, speaks volumes.
My last Salomon product was the Salomon Force Noodle. (F9) in a pr7, because Salomon didn't believe in ski lengths back then.

Edit: actually I did buy a pair of sweet candy red 916 Labs about a decade ago on clearout. Only got around to mounting them up a couple of years ago.
But those haven't really changed much since the 70s, right up to the 997s. Then Sally ruined it by getting all Spheric and shit.

Heh. Same here. Don't remember the "power" number though. They were about 205 cm. My first and last pair of 200+ cm skis. They sucked. Whenever possible I would borrow 7XK's from a buddy who was the only person I knew with a quiver. Pretty sure I'd still have fun skiing those.Quote:
