Jim, super sorry to hear this. Looks like you and road trip got the 12/13 season locked down with constant deep days for the EC roll call. We all owe you guys! Glad you are recovering steadily, those Worths still need to taste the magic woods.
I like inner boot works as well, had two pairs of boots go from pain to pleasure from them.
Lynch- glad you are following them to. Here is a youtube link showing the cattaraugus creek fishing in NY for the November trip. Let me know today if you can if you can make it happen.

....seamlessly segways over from ECRC 5. Feels like fall turns will be good this year.

Bumped up an old thread in Tech Talk but only have a 1/2 or so on the Trew gear on the clymb...question is about the eagle pants and how much insulation they have? thanks
Oh no problem! The TECH TALK, JONG! insulation in those pants is great and will keep you comfortable in temps ranging from "oops- accidentally put this in the wrong forum" all the way up to "I just made multiple threads all with the same question in multiple forums".
Dr. Hutz just posted something nice as well. It involves schussable amounts o snow in the immediate forecast.

weathermen are all super gay!
look at all the colors on my map.

if it happens, it happens.
fuck any long range bullshit.
haha, yeah I know. Just needed info fast. Missed the damn things anyway!!! oh well
GetAmped, glad you are on the mend now, too. Sounds like a bitch, though. Of course, come to the Fest if you can and I'll see you have a roof and real bed!
Yes, I agree with Buttah, long range forecasts with any degree of accuracy are maybe 3 days. (Forecast for me this week has already changed three times).
There will be periods of darkness followed by periods of light.
is that hutz?
nice look.
it seems to me that in the mountains or by the ocean they can't predict shit. last night there was no rain forecasted and it hasn't stopped spitting all morning.
I'll take your word for it. Google wouldn't translate that into english for me. Was that scientific jargon for it might snow this weekend? LH, may I suggest two versions of your forecasts or at least a dumbed down synopsis? I do enjoy them but can't understand half of it. Hahaha.
For me, I can wait. Never liked too early. Great way to end the season before it starts but to each their own. Be careful but enjoy.
SPITTING?!
fuck, i left newmarket on my bike in a drizzle that by the time i hit durham was a heavy drizzle, rain then picked up to a soaking heavy drizzle on rte 4 till i hit your place of business in newington and continued till i got to work in portsmouth.
drowned rat i was, but no wetter than when i surf:)
20% chance?! wtf does that mean?!
hopefully the ride home will be dryer tonight.
and lets not get all stoked on early snows. we all know what happens when that goes down.....a dry december and january.
rog
I appreciate all the variables involved with forecasting the weather, but these seasonal forecasts are never right. Good for getting stoked, though... That said, I'd say you do a great job for the most part. Seems you're onto stuff ahead of the curve and have often been right on. This week I rented a 66' lift for $1500 based on no rain...
Btw, what's the weather two weeks from this Saturday? ;)
wtf :)
Rog, i need to get you riding the little woods spot by the airport. i just cut in another short trail yesterday. I'll add a little then loop back around. it's a lot of work cleaning and laying out a new line! i need to break out the cordless sawzall for some bigger downed stuff in the way.
that adapter landed today.
Thanks for all the good vibes. I really am stoked to get the DBs out in some deep snow since that didn't happen last season.
BD, much as I would love to come up for the fest, I'll have to pass this year. It's killing me to miss my favorite fall activities (camping, hiking, trail clearing), but I have to be realistic and focus on getting back to 100% by the end of the year.
Damn! Between the two of us, we've got the full house of treatments. Chemo, radiation, surgery..... Glad to hear that your ride ended about the same time as mine did. And damn, are we going to have a helluva day when we have our "F Cancer" ski day (cough, cough.. season).
I can so relate to this one. I had one surgery in June with a 30 day can't-do-anything probation period and then, the big surgery in July had a 90 day probation period. There was 1 week in between when I said F it, got a place to stay at the beach and surfed for 5 days straight (thankfully, Ullr's surfing brother blessed me with nice longboardable pussy waves (I'm still learning...).
Take it slow and take care of getting back in shape. I'll be doing the same thing down here in Jersey.
Very much looking forward to meeting you @ Magic!

The forcasts the last 10 days have not lasted 12 hrs before they change, love the optomistic long term fo-casts as it makes it easier to have powder dreams. I found plenty of wooly bears this fall that all point to a great winter.
GA, get after the fitness to enjoy the snow later.
At this point it's all pipe dreams but I've had some damn fine days in October so watching and waiting is the best policy IMHO
Long term forecasts may be worth little, but I've followed Dr. Hutz's advice to early season pow 3 of the last four years. On all occasions he predicted much more snow than the weather establishment predicted, if they predicted any, and Dr. Hutz was right. It's time to mount dynafits on rock skis.
blinked for a few days and the new ecrc rolls out, just wanted to plant a flag, pour a rye whiskey neat and say here's to a deep and long season and hope to get many turns with y'all. all the best to road trip and get amped also.
Damn, went to Baltimore for a long weekend and ended up on page 7. Lots of catching up to do.
To all the folks kicking cancer's ass...fight the good fight. Mrs. MNIAW is still dealing with it but is winning. Kinda cool to live with a woman with a bucket list! She'll be joining me at Work Day #2 on Saturday. Her new goal is to ski Magic and hang at the BLBP this winter.
Radam...sorry to hear about your spill. I owe you a ride somewhere with borken bones so don't hesitate to ask.
DoWork, that comment about nordic girls and lobsters had me laughing out loud. You've obviously never been to Denmark!
TC, those are some sweet fish pics.
Laser, props for starting 6.0. See you at Magic this weekend?
Biff, saw your avatar all over Oriole Park at Camden Yards this past weekend. Red Sox suck but it was a great weekend anyway.
Screws come out of my knee on 15th...will prevent me from getting to Ullrfest but I plan on skiing K on Veteran's Day.
Just want to throw out a public service announcement to my former colleagues...October 3-4 is the anniversary of the Battle of the Black Sea portrayed in the movie Blackhawk Down. Most don't remember the date but those that are connected to that event will never forget. Lots of heroes.

Trying to appreciate every minute that I can. Rainy days or bluebird gold, we all get one spin on this wheel (that we are sure of), everything else is a dream.
I don't know whether the colors are extra special this year, but they seem like it. Perception is 9/10's of reality.
QFT...
An fuck, where'd ya'll come out from? One god damned day and there's more posts in ECRC6 than we'd get in most weeks this past summer.. what, were y'all waiting for v6? Should be a good ride here on the EC, it always is. :fmicon:
And ^^^^ 1^jong bringin the funniez.. iiizzzzzz niiiiiizzzzze
