Good letter. We'll see what next year brings. It was sure nice to take your Pokes out behind the woodshed for a good ol' fashioned butt kickin'. Gotta say, John Beck keeps getting better and better. The Utes don't stand a chance.
And since I couldn't watch the BYU game on TV I watched Rutgers and thought that was one sweet game.
And it would obviously have to be higher in CFB because an 8-4 record is a pretty low bar when you're only filling 8 playoff spots.
I dunno. I don't think there's anyway to get around a season long ranking system, even if it is feeding an 8 team playoff. You are still going to have pissed off teams who didn't make the bid with similar records, and you are going to have pissed off teams with their seed in the playoff. It just doesn't seem like an improvement to me.
Maybe the problem lies in the conferences themselves. Maybe it should be treated like the English soccer leagues where you have a premier league of 20 or so teams that play each other and then lower divisions. If a team does exceptionally well and runs their lower division, they can move up into the big boy league.
edit: arggg, double post
What a week!!
#3, 5, 6, and 8 in the BCS taking a loss with #4 barely squeezing by.
