One day about that same year I tried those stupid boots too. Must have been about 10 at the time. Those things sucked so much, if you went off a jump you had to lean back with your knees straight to land because they had no tips and you'd just fall on your face. Glad to see those died out real quick.

I generally ski my Head Monsters im85 with freerides. I skin up the Sherburne Trail which is way less crowded. You can skin up all the way to the top of the bowl (snow dependent obviously) and then boot pack up the steeps. I have heard of some people skinning all the way up Right Gully by using ski crampons with their setup but have never seen it. I'm pretty sure others on this board have skinned up the Tuckerman Trail also, but I always do Sherbie.Quote:

One positive note on snowlerblades - (yes I have tried them along with just about every other device for sliding snow) - My wife had major knee surgery a couple of years ago and she tried out a pair of blades the next season. she rides them every non-powder day, as they are much easier on her knees - less swing weight applied to the knee = less pain. I occasionally use them when chasing my son around the beginner slope as well - easier (for me) to go backwards in front of him, go slow enough for him to keep up (not much of a problem anymore)
They are a good tool for the right situation - low speed, groomers, etc - wouldn't even think of them on any kind of powder day...

That's easier than a spread eagle on skis. Tricks on sled dogs takes very little skill other than the ability to stand.
I don't care about any of this pc crap, kids that dress like they're mainstream rappers, and act all core about doing tiny little jumps and going really slow on short tiny funny looking versions of skis are fucking retarded.
It's like people trying to convince formula1 racers that kids go carts are more core.

Several years ago at Mt. Baker I saw a skiboarder (snowblader?) trying to get down from chair 6. It was a typical 12" Baker day and this guy was pretty much snowshoeing down the hill (thought it was Duncan!). What a douche!
I can't hate too much. They are having a good time doing what ehy're doing, and I will give them credit, I can't land jumps on those things NEARLY as easily as on my skis.
