Liking the volkl deacon 84 as my go to in firm snow this season. Pretty versatile off piste and forgiving for what it is. Got it for coaching, running demos but ended up grabbing them any time it was firm coaching or not. Easy to vary turn shape and has a pretty good top end for an “easy” piste ski. Even fun in bumps.

Recently mounted up a 2025 enforcer 89, wicked nice ski. I had an enforcer 93 a few years ago and didn’t get on with it, digging this 89 tho

Got them out yesterday and I'm super stoked on them. Zero regrets about going with the 185s.
They rip. Instant boost to my best Carv score (for whatever that's worth). Not enough to catch the local PSIA examiner, but put me ahead of the high school racers on the carv app.
I have a pair of Laser AX's in a 182 and agree you get way more than a badge for the extra money. Unreal skis.

Groomers and chop are where these do the best, and have felt totally planted while cranking gs turns but they are still happy to initiate at slower speeds or on shorter turns. You’re not going to get too much of a pop at the end of the turn like a truly directional ski or race ski, but by sacrificing that stiffness it’s really easy to get them in the sweet spot of a locked in turn.
While I still enjoy messing around on softer “do it all” skis (Jski Allplays/Moment Wildcat 108s), the MSP 91s are much better suited for my preferences. As long as you drive them a bit, you’ll be good to go.
I just grabbed K2 Disruption 78Ti from EVO for $299 w/bindings. They're super fun on hard snow.

Black Crows Mirus Cor. I ski these on Minnesota hard pack, probably the most fun you can have on skis in Minnesota.
I gave up looking for a ski like this and switched to tele. Most fun I've had on firm ski period. Doesn't matter what ski as long as you can bend the knee

Agree with the Stöckli Montero AR comments; the ski is in a class by itself both performance and price-wise. Atomic Redster Q9.8 Revoshock is also a rocket and $400 cheaper . . .
At roughly half price for the ski and matching bindings, these Monteros are still the most I’ve ever spent on a ski…Feels worth it though.

tried the prodigy 1.0 (88 underfoot) mounted at -6 and didn't like it all.
are there any classic twins out there with all mountain performance mount -7 to -9?
