Road trip to at least Schweitzer and Big Sky. If there's time, hit Red and maybe another Canadian area on the same trip.
If I visit the folks over the holidays, I'll take the car and that means a Kirkwood, Squaw and/or Alpine Meadows drive-by.
Will try for Crystal a couple times or more. Been there twice already, but had horrible days- have yet to really ski it. Still haven't been to Alpental.
Never been but wanna ski (realistic can-do's) in no particular order
Tahoe area
Squaw
Bridger Bowl
The Canyons
Loveland
B.C. --
Loveland Pass (I've skied A-Basin)
Berthoud Pass
Togowatee Pass (driven a zillion times, never stopped to explore in winter)
Cameron Pass (again, been there but never skied it)
Rabbit Ears Pass (ditto above)
Wondering if you guys could possible work out whether this chute has a cornice on the top of it... Looks like it to me (Did a bit of playing about in the Gimp and there seems to be a lighter shade sticking out in the middle), but want your opinions :)

Talking about the one furthest left, which tops out in a notch between the peak and the tower.

Depends on the day and year. Judging by the huge cornices on the ridge behind with a similar aspect, I would bring a rope. You might squeeze under the cornice by hugging the rocks on the skier's left.Quote:

This is the first year that I don't have much of a list. I'm working on my 2nd 100 and that list includes: Bachelor, Marmot, Sun Peaks, Hood Meadows, Castle, Smuggler's, White Face, Montana Snowbowl, Kimberly, Le Massif, Stowe, Sunday River, Nakiska, Powder King, Jay Peak, MRG, Okemo, Santa Fe, Alyeska, Monarch, Blacktail, and Brundage. I don't know how many of those I can get to this year but I'm gonna try for as many as I can...

Pretty much all those Western areas (except Powder King) are in my first 100, which I believe is actually only around 80.

So for this year I want to:
Hit the Northern/Coastal BC areas I keep hearing about that have so much snow.
hit list for this season is the same as any season...nothing specific, just let fate take its course. try and get more days at la grave, and maybe do a few more trips to verbier and chamonix.
