Got invited to play a new course for me today.
Silvermine Golf Club. A “Blue collar club”.
Tricky greens but nice views.

Wandered around the absolutely massive CCR clubhouse late night. There are so many rooms and nooks and crannys in this place.
I've played here a bunch but never have seen the entire footprint of the clubhouse. Place is a gem.
This was the coolest spot I found...one of the countless rooms

I had a sibling get hitched in Vegas yesterday so my dad booked my nephew a lesson at the Butch Harmon school for today. Ricky Fowler was there working with Butch and was super friendly and encouraging to my nephew. On our way back to the car Ricky came over and chatted with us for ten minutes and signed a glove and ball for my nephew. What a treat for the lucky kid. I’m sure Rick has no idea what an impactful moment that was for my nephew.

That’s awesome to hear about a pga pro being so cool. But I’m actually not that surprised. Ricky just seems like a nice cool guy. Hence his huge sponsorships even though his play hasn’t been top level. Customers can relate to the guy.

Yeah I’ve always liked him and cheer for him so it was refreshing to see that he is as great in person as he seems on TV. Hopefully he gets his game back in top form.
Almost had another ace!
Bethpage Black 3rd hole.

Did you make the putt? :)
Statistically, you have a better chance of making an ace than Booner does.
“Another ace”
So, you’ve had an ace already? I had one, but I was playing alone, so didn’t “count” according to the hard asses.
I’ll buy you drinks, booner.
Many, many, drinks.
Back when the daily newspaper listed local holes in one in the sports section, it seemed that there were more aces from Marys with a 3 wood at 130yds than Joes with a PW or 9. There is a golf god out there and he has a sense of humor.
My setup for the past 10 yrs or so has been Driver...5W...3H...4i, etc
Got sick of not being able to control flight of hybrid off the tee (too spinny...can't hit running stinger) so I got a Titleist 716 T-MB 3i with Graphite Design Tour AD driving iron shaft.
Game changer...point and shoot off the tee and from the fairway/rough. It rips through the turf like a blade...feels like one too. Easy to flight but can hit it high too. 5 yds shorter than my 5W so I'm pulling the 5w and putting 3W in the bag for first time in years.
16.5* M4 tour 3W with Graphite Design IZ-8 X arrives tomorrow.
I once played golf with a guy who had a ridiculous number of hole in ones. I don’t remember the exact number, but it was over 15, at least. Of course, he was retired, and played lots of rounds at courses with a lot of short par 3 holes, like the course in Boulder Creek California where I happened to join up with him and his wife. He mentioned that he got his latest ace the day before, and his wife confirmed it, so I don’t think he was blowing smoke up my butt.
3w had a tough time along the ride. Fuck me

Still without an eagle, but this 75-yard wedge shot came within an inch or two of making it happen...

It's bound to happen eventually.
You have a good swing
My wife and step daughter decided to follow my son and me when we played 9 after having a few beers yesterday afternoon. I didn’t see it but my buddy texted this morning that they drove their cart up the ramp and over the 8th green.
I think we have to change clubs. https://media1.giphy.com/media/3owyp...p7W0/giphy.gif
