One interesting idea I read about regarding how to deal with the tunnels was to use some sort of forced air system with an inert colored gas. Similar to how underground streams can be traced with colored dye. Find the entrance to a tunnel, stick some huge fans at the entrance, see where it comes out.
That's obviously over simplified but to me would probably be one of the better courses of action if it were possible.
eta: I'm not aware of any gases that would qualify, but perhaps using extremely humid air that could somehow be detected in an otherwise arid environment. Would definitely be a bit of a science experiment with hygrometers.
FFS, just get a large quantity of hashish, set it on fire inside the tunnel entrances, place giant high powered fans next to the burning hash, and let that stuff fill the tunnels. You'll have a bunch of stoned Hamas terrorists in no time. Then go in and drag them out. No angry terrorists chanting, "allahu Akbar". When they finally come off their high in an IDF jail cell, they will still think it was all just a bad dream.Quote:
