Very down. I work on the hill Friday to Tuesday, so I'm around
Word. Will pm
Easily one of the best days expectations wise. 1-2 overnight fcast.. easily 18 on the hill now. No one here. Blower. Skiing knee waist deep every turn.
Simply incredible.
FKNA.
Speaking of schwing, apparently some dude hit a stump and cut his dick almost off/ badly. Had to go to hospital and get work done.
Then my ski buddy tells a story of tailguiding cat skiing where a girl wiped out and the pivot dildo fully enters her and causes damage/ off to hospital. Was in hospital for 5 days.
JFC.
Couple inches + high winds = FLAT EVERYWHERE
Absolutely firing today.
Yep was good. Shallow.pow, packed pow, wind buff. Good stuff. Now sun I think for a couple days...

look how fat kachina is. pre lift. jfc
Who knows. It's totally skiable. Doesn't look like much control being done.
Jeb McHardman can chime in and give the true skinny..
Sunny and pleasant and empty today. This Nancy is feeling more comfortable off trail. Were a foot or two off the ground now. Should be three feet off the ground by March 23..
We've had our hands full with keeping open existing terrain and opening new terrain these past two weeks. Also been battling some mechanical/lift issues. There's been a little work on the peak post-storm cycle, but I expect at least a couple more days of control work before it opens.
Could it open soon ike this week or? It's usually Feb/60 in base....
Yeah, I just missed it last year.
My first time skiing there and it was awesome!
Steep, deep, and tight!
I was there February 14-16.
Left a couple of days prior to Kachina opening.
I honestly don't know. Kind of above my paygrade
Patrol just told me kachina could open to hiking soon.
Last time we were up there I took the youngest up on the hike. Still a great way to get up there...
Here he is waiting on my slow, sorry ass.

Skied w the former NM governor today. Seven summit -er, 71, skied Al's run top to bottom wo stopping. Then hiked the ridge. Dude is a beast. Impressive. Skis 100 @ TSV.
You skied with Gary’s Johnson?
He has also ridden Tour Divide from Banff to Mexico at least twice. Maybe 3x
yeah he said 6 times or whatever. we hiked out the west ridge to meatball, dude was smooth. skis up tsv daily. my buddy and him were razzing the shit out of each other.
I voted for him instead of Trump.
Would again, even though it’s a wasted vote.
Gary Johnson is a chiller

mark and gov getting into meatball yest.
I'm thinking we went around. Came in a bit lower. Skied a valkerie today. Not bad.
It was good but not chargeable. Def tip toe ing down the hill.
That's what I don't understand about openings. I guess maybe it took this long for the snow to set up to keep you off the bottom. Cool you got that. My first trip to Taos I caught a North America opening. I had no real plan. Caught the chair with a local as we were getting off he says North American is open, lets go. I have no idea what it looked like. I was going wide open to keep up with him. Last year I caught the opening of Wild West. Rode the chair with a patroller. Had no idea about that run. She had just opened it, said go long on the hike. Met a local on way out. He asked if I had ever been here before. Hell no, so I followed him out and got fresh tracks all the way. Went up to do it again and it was pretty well done. Kind of nice for locals to enjoy the hill without a crowd. Looks like only Kachina zone closed. With the ticket pricing only way I will go is planning 5 days out. Definitely not considering until totally open.
Still really no base. The shit that is skied in is skiable, the shit that isn't is slamming into rocks and stumps.
Wolf Creek is skiing well. Snow is supportable trees are in play. Yesterday was pretty good with the little bit of new snow. Backcountry is finally in, snow is supportable and deadfall is covered but can still be a problem if you dont know the area.
Word I gotta get up there
