Ok, it seems like everybody is drinking the wren98 kool-aid. Can anybody compare it to the wren102? With regards to float, maneuverability etc. It seems that the higher rocker in the tail would make it a bit more slarvy when needed?
I do like my 102s, great in powder for their width, decent on groomers, but a bit too much tail for me in marginal conditions / scandi-trees

I demod the 102s and was not a fan... It was a good ski, but should not have the Wren name... Def softer and more easy going... Not that any Wren was demanding, but for me the 102 was a little lost... The 98 def beats the 102 on all fronts and cant think of category the 102 excels over the 98...Quote:

EDIT: Fuck it, I know I'm going to like the Wren 98's so just pulled the trigger. Do you guys have some kind of punch card? Like, buy 9 pairs of skis and get the 10th pair free? ;-)
Never ridden the 98 Wrens but can tell you I owned and flipped a pair of Bonafides because the ski was stiff enough but the tail felt a bit vague for how I ski. Prefer the Fischer Motive 95s with a flatter tail that I have in that slot to the Bonafides. As always, YMMV...

"the Steeple 98 hits a lot of sweet spots. It has a lot of range but is biased towards soft snow. If you want a handmade in North America soft snow touring ski the Steeple 98 should be a consideration."
