Nils, it was good to meet you in Killington with Indy GS, even if the snow sucked, it still beats the hell out of Michigan. Keep kicking ass, and get well soon
Kickass!
rock on! :yourock:
Nils, thanks for the update! I hope today finds you feeling better than yesterday. Are you all decked out and ready to go do your calisthenics, Richard? :p
I'll touch base w/ you later. It sounds like everyone's vibes and prayers are helping, so we are keeping them coming!

Glad to hear the surgery went well and was effective. You are truly an inspiration.
Nils - keep up the fight. You're a strong fucker. Let us know when you're the city next.
Keeping this bumped. How you feeling Nils? Anything you need from a bunch of crazy but loving maggots?
Nice sweating to the oldies steeze, Nils!! haha ... cancer or no cancer, you are still a huge dork! ;)
If that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, Miss I Put Spokey-Dokes On My Race Bike ;)
Update for you all: I've been feeling SOOOO much better these last few days. And it's not just because I'm on so many drugs that Keith Richards has never heard of either. I'm still feeling sore, but I guess after spending a month with a crushed vertebrae I can't expect overnight to be ready to start charging on my mountain bike. But I hope to make it back onto my road bike sometime next week. Not riding is driving me cazy- I've had to stop reading BD4A's blog because I'm jealous of her 108 mile training ride TR's.
I had my second round of chemotherapy yesterday, and so far the side effects have been minimal. The last time it took about three days before they kicked in, so I'm expecting to feel pretty crappy as the week goes on. I'm not sure when my nexy sojourn into NYC will be, since I still can't walk very far before I start getting leg cramps (the surgery may have irritated a neve that goes to my left leg. Hopefully this is temporary)
Meanwhile, I'm already looking forward to next ski season. I don't know where I'll end up, but I know it WON'T be Huntah or Mt. Slow. And I'm already thinking about what new gear I'll be getting (especially now that there are Full Tilt dealers in the East now)
That's all for now. And if anyone is bored and feels like driving to the middle of nowhere to hang out and watch ski/bike porn, visitors are always welcome.
Rock on. Like Keef.
keep on keepin'on!!!! and use joe mascis as a soundtrack!
Sooooo glad to hear you're feeling better. Sorry about the leg cramps. Eek - yuck.
You and I had chemo on the same day! I know what you mean about the first couple days being ok and then BAM! it all kicks in. So far I'm ok (though what the hell am I doing awake at 4:30 am???), but the aches will set in soon. VICODIN! Yum. It's my friend.
Do you think if I do those steezy Richard Simmons moves it'll help?
So glad you're feeling better, Nils. You're on my mind tons!!
Way to go Nils!. Glad you are doing well. Keep it up and lets go skiing in VT this winter. Or anywhere for that matter.

The only inspiration I'm drawing from this is not to look like a legless, demented chimp from hell (lower left).

Risin' up, back on the street
Did my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive
So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose your grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive
its the eye of the tiger, it's the cream of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watchin' us all in the eye of the tiger
Nils - I am so inspired by your drive and fight bro. I just wanted to wish you best. :fuckyou: to cancer!
Keep it up man!
EYE OF THE TIGER, NILS!
Thanks for the update Nils. You're sounding real good considering the road you've been on. That's great news about the acrylic back procedure.
As usual, your mental tenacity and willingness to fight is impressive and you are an inspiration to every maggot.
Good luck and keep us informed...
Nils-
