i honestly dont even understand how it works....how do brakes of alpine stay up while touring? How do you step back into your alpine with that in the way? totally stupid

It's not weird, it's fucking stupid. If I see anyone touring with those I'm punching them and taking their skis. [emoji3]

new arc'teryx gear announced today on gear patrol
I would’ve used that d fit booster today. Cat skiing terrain off the hill is a 10-20 minute skin traverse. Doesn’t gain much vert. Lap in lap out

I can also see some purpose in that. Whats the problem? We're all raving about cast?
Just curious how it will affect ski flex when unused under the boot.
I never raved about cast [emoji3]
Always seemed way fiddly to me.

So, Dynafit is coming out with pin tech trekkers and Marker is coming out with a "traditional" pin tech binding. What a time to be alive.
Trust me. You wouldn’t. Always Pass a few touron snowboarders boot packing. They might make one lap(usually they cut out early and waste it) and powder so no one herring bones. I like my CAST set up. I’m pretty efficient with my change over routine now so no problem there . On the hill at 10 and 4 2000ft untracked laps. I haven’t but figure it’s possible to do 7 laps. No way you’d hike or herring bone that given the conditions. New CAST is look only. It looks improved in a lot of ways. The d fit toe plates on my version 1 have developed a fair bit of slop but I think I’ll just hack a garage fab plate that’s longer(it’s to short is the wear problem) and I’m not worried about a couple extra mills of height my plate will make. But because the new cast is look I can see having their cast set up or set ups but if they have another binding already on skis, why not have that booster stuck on their incase. A lot of days I like to start with a warm up lap to that cat skiing area(helps my back to warm up first) then finish the day with a lap there to extend the good skiing farther towards the bottom of the hill. Coles notes/it could be good for different areas. Wonder how much they are
Could see that Dynafit useful for us poor saps that have to fly to ski. use with Tyrolia Demo bindings removed from tracks, for weightless up hill. A lot of fiddling though. Shift probably a much better option of us poor saps that fly.
New Fischer Ranger Free announced today. Looks to be pretty good competition for the Atomic XTD.

Looks like new color for pivots?

Ya it seems like that rare product that is engineered for old standards and to be combined with another companies products. Don’t often see that from a relatively big market brand. Pic shows it with a trad Solomon toe piece. I’m guessing that’s the hole pattern width, to fit with a solly toe.
like this???

Mohawk requirement
Those would work as well, but I guess I was thinking about this years.

Looks very interesting. They had a magazine-invite-demo-thing a month a go. Norwegian magazine Friflyt was stoked. If this is as good as they claim it could replace my Cochise/Mtn Lab combo, and make me buy a 1000g-boot for longer tours.

For some reason I feel that the cuff/liner looks a bit taller than Cochise etc......which would be welcome for me.
Having to reach down and pivot the entire heel piece in order to change between heel raiser heights is a deal breaker for me, given that there are multiple otherwise functionally equivalent alternatives that don’t require such a significant inconvenience many times per day.
And colored zinc oxide for your nose. Toss in some old Oakley's and a headband and you're in 80s ski heaven

May still be a deal breaker but it was just the mid height riser that required turning the heel. Seemed like the mid height was minimal(5degree?) difference from flat and he almost mentioned it as an afterthought. Flat and the 3rd level riser didn’t require turning the heel. Maybe the 3rd is too high for regular use though. Idk
Those were the days, under the snik parasol, honey bronzed and very desirable

Is that Fischer boot DIN compatible? Vacuum Fit? Still made in Italy?
