Who likes the idea of maggotizing a campsite? Should be pretty nice to sleep out that time of year. I think I know of a few spots that could be sweet.

Last year a group of us camped off the loop road, just a few miles from town. A lot of people also camp at the various hot springs, but that's a longer drive.
So is it gonna be Thursday thru Sunday? Those are exactly the days I work. Crap. If anyone arrives two days early or leaves a day (or so) late I'd be stoked to ski a backcountry peak with a Maggot or two. If you're up for an early start and lots of vert.
What's with all this stankin', hippy, campin' stuff? Why don't ya'll just sack up a few and go fractions on a condo, L.A. style?
If I'm able to make it, I'll probably be campin as well.........
Frehies -- Just cleaned out my PM box...sorry 'bout that.

I may get a non-maggot or two to go - a co-worker or possibly a gaper skiing nephyte friend out from the bay area. I dunno. No one's committed yet.
I dug the camping part, and had a blast doing it. My only concern is if some weather moves in...
Ty - didn't you just post that you're going to watch the Kirkwood Comps? Isn't that the same weekend as the Mammoth Mini weekend?
Mammoth Mini and Kirkwood IFSA comp are a month apart.Quote:

Lessee - I'd say it's pretty doable, but only if you don't stop for nuthin', and you drive your car like it was stolen. It's 160-170 miles of driving with only minor amounts of curvy driving. A more realistic time would be 3 1/2 or more with a stop included.Quote:

Sweet mammoth with the maggots, I'll be there!
Just posted some fresh Video and Still stoke of Mammoth at mammothsnowman.com. Soon all you maggots will be in the summit flick. Make sure you bring lots of pale ale and the goods. :D
Snowman,
Really enjoyed the Mammoth Video, and really nice tribute to Dave. Watched it about 5 times over and over. Looking forward to a spring corn fling down there soon, maybe during the Summit. Ended my season down there last May 17th, and started my season there 1st weekend of Oct this year. Really enjoy Mammoth, after finding it again after 20 years or so.
Thanks for the Video
Kirk
i had to bring it in as lowest quality

I like it Tuffy - Dingle, I appreciate all of your efforts but, as I said before, it looks very official, like it needs laminating and a "Hello, My Name is...". Tuffy's is more consistent with all the PM stickers etc. And I think all the PM stickers should be consistent, why change what ain't broke?
Tuffy - I miss the PM across the Woolly, though. And maybe tetongravity.com across the top, instead of Powder Maggot?
That's my vote, no offense to anyone.
cool. i'll take a shot at it later.
First off what is a Mammoth Mini and secondly I have some friends/family vouchers from working there this year that I won't be using due to my injured state if anyone wants/needs a couple drop me a line. I think i have 2-3 and they are 50% off coupons.
I'll be up that weekend and I'll bring my MVP "bring a friend" discount for any maggot that wants to ski on the cheap. I guess I need to figure out some way meet up with the mini crew either on the hill or at bars.
zCool. It's in tuffys hands then.
A mammoth mini is just a long weekend when a bunch of us internet geeks get together and ski/board, party, drink, and ski/board. Oh and sometimes there is a raffle where we get free shit. Mini just recognizes the fact that it's not a "summit" which includes the whole slew of us, but instead, is usually limited to locals - ie. less than 500 miles away or so.Quote:

the back of the voucher sez "Not valid for groups or clubs." OK! We are NOT together
"Limit up to 3 friends per card, (you may buy multi day tickets and receive discount). One time use only"
I'll be doing b/c, Matterhorn, Tom, and Emerson or sumthing along those lines, the week leading up to this MS.
PM if you're interested.
Schralper - the voucher you have is different from the voucher that 50kleg is offering up. Yours sounds like the Bring A Friend thing that we're all bringing to give out to mini-goers - and Divegirl, with those you have to purchase your tix on a Friday, I believe (buy a 3 out of 4 day ticket at the coupon price).Quote:

Yes my tickets are different and will work on a weekend. Mine are a mountain employee perk.

Keep the stoke alive and get out here NOW if you can! Snow should be continuing until this Friday!
Damn this bum knee!
Lincoln shut down at 12:09 today. Freshies any one? 20+ inches fresh in my driveway here at 8054ft. Snow is your fav sierra cement type. Nice base storm in progress. July 4th sure would be nice on the hill.
Chair 22 didn't even run today. 16 didn't spin until nearly 2pm. Got laps on the chair-22 liftline run (deep and light every time) by double-chairing 17 to 4 instead.
Should be luscious for anyone who can make it the next couple days -- a completely resurfaced Lincoln Mountain.
I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on a plane ticket. My new BROs need a longer workout than they've been given. Would prefer to not rent a car. Any Mags have room for a rider? Reno tickets are cheapest so I'll likely fly there.
