I've seen people in Japan wearing REGULAR socks with the flip-flops.

Yeah, seconded the fanning sandals, they rule. Unfortunately our motherfucking little dog chewed mine up two weeks ago :( and the deleted thing about my e-tailer they got a full stock in this week and for the best price on der interwebin

as for stank management: washing your feet is key you dirty fucking hippies.

Oh, and I've recently traded up from Reef to Chaco flips. never going back.

the rainbows are great, but have a sweat management system that would make a NY cabbie jealous.

I saw a myth-busters where they tried vodka as a foot de-stinker and the myth was not busted.

So you could try soaking your feet and sandals in vodka. The perk is you can then drink the vodka because it has alcohol and kills the germs anyway, right? Waste not, want not!

I scrub my feet and it seems to help quite a bit. I cruise Teva's Guides and flip flops, and they "supposedly" have some anti-fungal compound in the rubber that keeps the stink factor down.

Simple, comfortable, non-stanking, long lasting rubber. Around a $3/pair in Brasil, should be $10-$20 stateside.

word, the Fanning Pro Model is the shit. I have the more understated model in brown. The bottle opener on the bottom is the coolest thing ever.

my feet stink. i wear hemp rainbow sandals (comfortable and warranty if they break prematurely) ... and use a steel wool brush to strip the grime and stinkiness off the top every once in awhile. ive also found that walking around with sandals on at the beach de-smells. not sure why though.

Three pages and no one has gotten the right answer yet? Shoulda asked over in the paddling forum, we know a bit about stink funk gear!

The answer: 3 parts white vinegar, 1 part water
Soak overnite, let dry.

Oh and I've worn Reefs since the 80's, but Chaco flipflops completely pwn.:fm:

No no no- you open OTHER people's beers with that side. There are openers on both sides. Honestly, when I am out playing Ultimate, and no one has an opener, the last thing anyone cares about is what I stepped in. It really doesn't touch the bottle, either.

Only downside to them. They don't last as long as the slaps. Something about how they are glued together.

Freshies- had to get the Green ones, they were the first to come out. Not really a "first to have it" type of guy, but when it comes to flip flops, I am a trend setter.

Chaco's are far and away the best flip out there. I recently started wearing some Keens every other day or so. Chaco's are on second summer no stank, Keen's have had two months and can smell them under my desk.
