In one of the early reports I believe he mentioned that he uses the freeride pluses. The bindings are visible in some of the summit shots and appear to be the black and red design that is consistent with this binding.

In another thread, our man KW reported a 300mm AT boot sole. This is more akin to a 26/26.5 Garmont shell.

PSA pretty good closeout on www.rei.com on adrenalins, matrix's and g rides right now 250 to 300

most of the lifties in the french alps use that e2 thing.

so from what i've gathered e2 is ellipse 9 but with a rubber sole.. thus e2 doesnt work with alpine bindings but is compatible with naxo's & FR's? does anyone know how light these e2s/ellipse 9s actually are (bathroom scale..)?

The Ellipse 9s with the stock liners are definitly a little bit heavier then the Scarpa Tornados, but I'd say the shells are about the same.
