Skiboarding is fun to some people...taking it in the pooper is also fun to some people.

"I took my little bro skiboarding for his first time, and when he fell, some skiier shouted "thats what you get for being on the gay blades.""
- surely a Maggot
I used to be a ski instructor. If a kid was a die-hard tail gunner, we used to toss them on a pair of snowlerblades for a day. The company owned about 6 pairs. It got the kids out of the backseat in a hurry. We also used them to teach kids how to carve.
Then we got the kids off the snowblades and back on skis in a hurry.
In my opinion, one of the best aspects of skiing if how fucking huge you can go and still land it. I guess east coast snowlerblading makes sense... not a lot of big mountain out there. But when I see kids actually trying to snowlerblade in coastal concrete, i have to laugh. Get a pair of real skis, it makes so much more sense!
Also, snowblading just looks awkward.
I'm glad some of you see the humor in this....
I'm obviously not making fun of anyone for having fun, its the ridiculous things they say.
case-in-point: "If it wasnt for innovative sports like skiboarding, half of the US resorts would be closed ", and: "it's mad easy to stomp tricks on 181s."
Some of you are slipping. Where's Pinner when ya need him?
im at alta, it snowed all night, i'm suuuuper pumped. get out of work , walk out of gdm get like 10th in line...boooya. there is liek a foot and a half of the light freshy stuff. guess who is behind me, a snowlerblader. the entire line is sort of giving him looks and then my beligerent typical new-yorker co worker flynn calls him out for it and almost fights him; "go get skis now you won't regret it, dumbass." the guy is really wierd. he shows me his phone, a picture of "his car", a corvette with like 3 foot tires on it. he boasts that he could drive it up alta. I encouraged him and looked away, trying not to get infected with whatever he had, hoping he'd get caught in an avy or something. snowlerbladers are sort of a differnt breed.
i have a couple questions for the snowlerblader on this board, they might sound mean but im genuinely interested; umm can you ski pow with them? why? have you even tried a cliff larger than 10 feet on them? do you have non-releaseables? whatever im done being reasonable, im actually posting this on NS now, just because they thought this thread was actually mean.
i mean i think that whoel site is just jealous of the core sick snowbladers: BCREW WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT

Since when is a proper mocking a waste of time?Quote:

The people I do not like are those that feel the need to talk shit and be ignorant to the other people on the mountain alongside them. Normally I don't hear crap when I'm out, probably because of my size or whatever....who knows.
Skiers hate on snowboarders, Snowboarders hate on skiers, they both hate on skiboarders, etc...etc... basically it sucks.... just F'N ride and have a good time doing it.
i mean i feel liek its my obligation to inform snowbladers that there are MUCH better things.
my analogy is if you saw a guy riding around on a bike with hexigon wheels....
"uh, you know the, uh, wheel has been invented right?"
"oh yea, i like this much better"
"doesn't it suck when you go fast?"
"yea, but its real eaaasy, and superduper fun to ride slow"
Holy shit, I thought this was a joke for the first 10 seconds or so when they show the guys falling. Once I realized it was serious it made it ten times as funny!Quote:

yeah that 'this is how we do' line, repeated over and over, created a justifiable homicide situation.Quote:

I have absolutely no idea about the concept/practice of Snowlerblading!, but I do have one question? Is there any advantage to using alpine skipoles?
Are you sure the BCREW thing is an elaborate joke? Surely *noone* is that annoying, stupid and deluded?
edg
It can't be serious. It just can't be.
It's pretty fucking funny either way, though.
Bcrew fam mafuckers. B-crew motherfucking fam. Tha numba 1 fam.
Haha. on SBOL they all sound like 12 year old nerds....they're always IN SHOCK over people making fun of other people, hate disrespect, and just talk amongst themselves over how much they hate getting made fun of.
Have you seen my baseball?Quote:

Personally, I have only seen them mounted with Freerides, obviously for the modern day more agroo freerider who really wants to be able to tour out short distances to huch their meat.

Hope this clarifies it for you.:p
WOW, I totally forgot about this thread. thanks for the bump. I think it was funnier this time around. :D
I remember back in the '92/'93 season I tried some sort of ski boot that was designed to be used without skis. the sole was basically molded to mimic a ski. The company was having a demo day at the ski hill I went to that day. Not sure who made them or even if they ever went into mass production.
I've never seen anything like that before so i gave them a try. On the first run I was going of kickers and drops like I had been riding these things for years. They were fun for about 3 runs then I got bored and went back to my skis until I broke my collar bone.
