help me design a logo

Yea, i googled that one one too & don't think it's anything close.

while i'm interested in the 'outward bound' version of the planes, my instinct tells me it wouldn't work b/c it wouldn't look as much like a snowflake.

Also, to echo INDYGS's comments about the font, i'm not really a fan of it either.

hehe yeah the kern is a little off, wondered if anybody wold say anything. i was mostly working the concept at this stage and didn't turn on the type eyes. i did see the kern being off once i made the .jpg to post up. i'll try to post the logo in black for the standard "does it work in black" exercise.

antisocal - no you may not do that with the logo. think of any company you respect or like and check out how they use their logo. the only way it ever plays into navigation is to get you back to the home page and even then it doensn't do anything in terms of roll over states etc...

Point taken. (I got a similar response from my web designer friends. Apparently I suck at design. I guess they made me yearbook editor in high school because I was the only one dumb enough to volunteer for the job.)

The FedEx logo in question was described as:

"They had 6 planes facing inward doing the same thing, and they were the fedex orange and purple. It was also had a smidge of perspective which was very attractive. It is an excellent logo, and that is why it stayed with
me"

I've put a call into the FedEx logo usage people, but since none of us have found the actual logo online, I'll probably not worry (I'm doubting that FedEx will even notice me).

one thing you really don't want to do is come up with something that people see and go... "oh yeah isn't that just like so and so's logo?" it can be quite a task as almost every good idea had been done at least twice before. plus designers are alwasy looking at everything and unintentionally taking visual note of stuff they like.

Of course there's a grain of "truth" to it, since your logo reminded me of the Scanner segment in The Junkshow Diaries. That doesn't mean you stole anything, I was merely joking, and even less that you haven't actually seen the movie. It's one of those things -- it's a good idea, so it's probably been done before. That's just the way I see it. I still think your logo is a fantastic idea, and I'm glad it helped you out personally as well.

I doubt even FedEx attorneys could make a case for logo infringement on this one, it's not anywhere close.
