Ghee was a total gong show today…. As expected significant wind fuckery with isolated sheltered pockets of creamy. Definitely a ‘Meh’ Powday IMO. Snowboard was the tool of choice today. Parking at capacity by maybe 9 with 1 out 1 in…. All that said still a fun day

Lots of airs and big hits in the group, even some for the older folks. We found bombholes and made bombholes, baby. Hit some chutes that had not been filled in enough to hit before.
And carnage everywhere as far as the eye could see. Place was literally walk on lifts by 12:30. People go tired or frustrated or cold or all three? Dunno.
Saw a kid in blue jacket and white pants launch a cork 7 above the Thunder maze while it was still pretty packed. Didn’t end great. Saw him much later at the base with an eye patch wrapped around his head. Bummer. If someone who knows him reads this, props for the huck. Good to see him up and mobile.

Super fun day for sure, but sorry I brought the Sierra snow density to the Tetons. This was anything but the blower I was praying for. Went bell to bell, got lucky w line cutting, and there was a lot of new snow, but not the quality I dream I'm always missing by being a Sierra skier. This was quite a Mammoth day, and even then I would say thicker and denser almost than Mammoth, more Tahoe esque.

Targhee ended up being pretty good today if you found wind protected areas. Lines went down a lot once people started moving around.
Tuesday this past week was the day of the week though for sure.

Fun time at Targhee. Great skiing Friday. Thought the first couple runs Sunday were pretty awesome too. No speed limit on that stuff! Went on Comp dad duty for a bit then finished the day with some heavy duty chop bashing. Love that shit for some reason. Had some delicious meals too. Badger creek cafe. The Mexican joint in Driggs I can’t spell and the Thai place in Victor.

I like this image because it isn't the hockey-stop, basket-pointed-at-the-sun trend that tried to trick the viewer into thinking conditions are deeper than they are. Even though I'll never meet most people who see my work, I want to respect their intelligence.
My mentors put emphasis on a quiet upper body and the pole plant. Seems to be a bit of a lost art. Times change!
Was nuking when these shots were taken (here's a view from further away)... shooting through that much snow always means less clarity.

Just got back in town (Driggs) after 10 days teaching up in Haines. Burly drive home from the airport in IF- drifting and windy on the way to Swan Valley. Getting home- there is SO much new snow. Shads of the last two Februaries in terms of snowbank sizes! And it looks like 11" on the R Bowl plot since 1100, and 7.5" at the Mile Marker 12 station on the pass. Only 3 at Chief Joe. Guess I know what I'm doing tomorrow...

With the BBCode, you can embed the image link and select the display size, and ALSO erase the portion of the URL that links back to your account. You might not desire this but I didn't want a way for folks to get to my albums, as I also use it as cloud storage for images of my family and all sorts of random shit.

Another flickr user here. I agree that photos viewed on the web browser have the largest impact (to me) when posted as norseman specifies above. Swimmy may be on a different hosting platform but has figured out how to post his photos the same way.
