huh I've never had that problem
You are aware that the buckles flip open a full, 180 degrees?

Just undo the cuff buckles from the ladders and lock them forward.
You jabronis act like I’ve never worn boots before.
I’m with falcon on this one. I also move the cable to the most open setting. Would be cool if tecnica added a longer throw and retention clip like the TLT 6 had. Would solve most of the ROM and fiddle factor issues.
Still the best touring boot I’ve owned. I tour with splitboarders so my fast transition times are mostly compensated with getting cold.
Anyone had luck with replacing the stock power strap with a voile strap or booster?
Not a huge fan of the cam system - wish my boots had a bit more of that booster elastic feel.
I'm about to drill out the power strap, I hate the cam system. But I also don't feel that I need to replace it with anything. The boots are plenty stiff for me personally.
I find mine not keeping a nice smooth bit of tension on my shins. I’ve been intrigued in the Voile strap approach but haven’t found any for sale in Whistler :(
You can replace the power strap buckle with one from Mach 1. Just slip it on. Doesn’t slip.
Key in part #40377F00001 (or "Power Lock Hook") in the search box. The direct link (https://www.blizzard-tecnica.com/us/...ed=40377F00001) may not work.
Curiously, the buckle shows up, but the link doesn't open (can't add it to the cart). Maybe it's a temporary website thing.
Mine work great ... in the living room ;-) I didn't pick them up until this Summer, so I can't report on use in the field.

i just replaced the strap and buckle because i ordered the part before that info was known. a center punch and then a 3/32 drill bit got the rivets out nicely.
I just ordered the buckle from Technica's site.
With continued issues with my alpine boot, this boot has become my daily boot now. Feels super intuitive to ski with the Deathwish on shift.
So flipping the lock, adding the spoiler helps with the downhill?
I love the flex, but the liner could be beefier around the ankle. Is a pro tour wrap the way to go for making these a makeshift downhill boot or has anyone tried some other liners?
The tour wrap has worked great in this boot for me and some other folks in the thread. I don't ski them inbounds though.
Picked up a pair of these and have two run in em with kiddos on the local bump.
Reading back over the thread and wondering if anyone has placed the top buckle and the strap with a single wide elastic strap? Something like the F1 Lt strap that co mingled with with a Booster?
I only need about a 110 flex boot and reading back sounds like one way to do that is just ditch the top strap.
Dig the fit n feel on em so far.
I like Pro Tours in mine. Haven't really ever gotten along with wrap liners though, so YMMV.
Big fan of tour wraps here. Pro Tours are nice, for those who don't bond with wraps.

Sorta a jong Q but…what alpine binders work with there ZGs (if any). I’m currently running tectons for in area parent skiing but I might like to go alpine (no I don’t have a dedicated alpine boot)

I will highly advise not using them with Markers. There is something about the geometry of Markers that doesn't play well with softer/ less dense plastics in a lot of touring boots. Had to warranty a pair because of a Tour 12 chewing up mine and the guys at Technica advised against it. Had to use the warranty replacement pair for a few months in some Marker Lords and there is dents in the heel ledge from it. Used them with Wardens without that problem
My tyrolia attack ats seem to be playing nicely with my zero gs. There's also the warden mnc.
A question for everyone with Pro Tours - did you size up or down? I'm a 25.5 shell.
I’m in a snug performance fit (5-10mm maybe?) in my alpine boots (Promachines), and ski a size up from that in my ZGTPs.
I’ve thrown a tour wrap with some solid j bars and a very (very) small spoiler in to the shells. My local fitter took a stand that if I’m going to spend 6-8-10 hours in these boots, I’m asking for trouble if I try for a similar level of fit. After someone I know through the grapevine lost some toes this winter on a long cold day in the BC, I’m glad I did.
I ski 27.5 cochise pros inbounds and have skied 27.5s for the last 12 years. 27.5 ZGTP shell fit was almost 2 fingers, so I sized down to 26.5 for a slightly bigger than a 1 finger fit, then punched the big toes. Stock liners. I've put 8 or so touring days this year and they are my best fitting boots I've had in years. No cold toes on a few near zero degrees F days, either.
Edit: Now I see that this was for intuition pro tour liners in the tour pro boot. Disregard, but I'll leave this here anyway in case anyone is wondering what size shell to get
My intuitions are the MV matching the shell.
Or do you mean what's your ZGTP in relation to my other boots? I have 26.5 Salomon Xmax's in 26.5, but I went with the 27.5 ZGTP (to both accommodate my massive instep volume without boot work since I got them on prodeal release year). Should probably be in the 26.5 with bootboard/ shell work.
Pick your intuition size based off your foot size, not your boot size. eg. if you are a 3/4 finger fit in a 25 shell, go for a 26 liner. If you are a 2 finger fit in a 25, go for a 25. That way you get more toe room if your boots are tight and better contact if your boots are big.
