I'm aware of the ample amount of breweries and their staple beers as we lived there for a while but I was asking for specific beers to pick up while I'm down there such as seasonals, etc. I don't have time nor the patience to not chokeslam Front Range hipster fucktards on a brewery tour so I plan on hitting up a liquor store and stocking up on IPA's that I can't get up here.
I go no further south than Lyons on principle.
Gubna and whatever Avery has in bombers are on the list.
Then do that, but only breweries can fill and sell Growlers in CO, so since you asked about growlers, I assumed you would like to go to a brewery. And not every brewery is full of hipster fucktards and I doubt they'll make you take the tour. You'll also generally get fresher beer there than at the store, which is especially important for the IPAs.Quote:

I was there on Monday night and that is how it look at 630. Pretty cleared out by 8pm though. I had a 50/50 ipa on Sunday that was pretty good.Quote:

Auburn Alehouse in Auburn, Kalif. makes an outstanding IPA. Great food, too. Every time I'm in the area, like right now, I'm reminded of how good this place is. Nothing bottled, that I'm aware of, though.

Friends mentioned to me that pliny is $30 at specialty beer shops in the beltway with nearly regular pricing on other rr flagship beers.

Here's my tip for all y'all- the little market on Soda Springs Road (off Hwy 80 like you're going to Sugar Bowl ) pulls in small shipments of Pliny the Elder every couple months or so. It's not put in the main fridge, but kept in back under wraps. You'll have to ask the dude at the register for some.
a lot of shops and groceries that i've seen in the grass valley/nv city area limit the number of pliny's that you can buy per day.
Are you guys talking about Pliny the Younger being $30 a bottle? Blind Lady ale house in SD has Pliny the elder on tap quite often.

Pretty mezza mezza. Had the southern hop one earlier this summer and felt the same about it. Neither one is better than the Torpedo, IMHO.

Scream IIPa from New Glarus is good. Not Pliney great, but very, very good.

I've had a a lot of IPA's with all things considered I think I like Lagunitas the best, Racer 5 is close 2nd but damn Lagunitas is tasty.
Lagunitas is awesome straight out of a keg. Found that out at a wsp concert in Milwaukee. It is like candy. Out if the bottle it is hit or miss. They need to can it and ship it to Iowa.

Also was on the Grapefruit Sculppin till I thought it tasted rusty? Guess I wasnt the only one. They have a new brew out and it barely tastes like grapefruit anymore-I know kinda fruit booter- but pretty good nevertheless.
