Ouch, man.

I think EHT is going to be my next purchase. I think this Eagle Rare is going to be finished off pretty soon, and when I go for a replacment an EHT might jump in for the ride home.
Collection has grown:
Weller SR
Weller Antique
Larceny
Elijah Craig SB
Woodfords Double Oak
Blantons SiB
Four Roses SB
Four Roses SiB OBSV (Standard)
Four Roses SiB OBSK (Select)

The wife is concerned. I'm having a blast. Keeping it 2 small pours a night.
So, because of a recent turn of events, I've stocked up on a few prize bottles and have a couple of each of these so that I can indulge but don't have to leave the house: High West Midwinter Night's Dram rye, George Stagg Jr, Four Roses Single Barrel Select (OBSK & OESK), and Elijah Craig Barrel Proof. There's some Woodford Reserve, Weller Special Reserve, and Sazerac rye for back up. I'm currently working my way through the ECBP and I have to say that with a small splash that this is some goddamn fine bourbon. Will report back on the others.

Fuck, I wish I could find that Midwinter Nights Dram.
For some reason the last 2 times I have drank Stagg Jr. it went down the wrong pipe.
LLS got in a barrel select shipment of Eagle Rare....it is OH so tasty. I bought 3 bottles. Might go back for more to store in the bunker.

Hoping this works. Sorry. Just bagging a bit. I have been lucky with my lls
Having a fun night sharing my love for bourbon with my son back from college. The great thing is he gets it. Perfect!!
Cruiser still turned me on to my favorite of the bunch. Mile High Wine & Spirits bought a barrel of Evan Williams Single Barrel 2001. Still have one back. Best bourbon I have ever had and it was something like $28 per bottle. Any of the Evan Williams Single Barrels has been a solid buy regardless of the year. For the $ Buffalo Trace is also great value and a terrific bourbon.

Nah. Widow Jane is pretty good. Different than the rest but pretty solid.

Nope, that was back when Evan was still doing 10y single barrels. Now they're only 8yo and the availability of hand selected barrels is much more limited due toa lack of supply of older material.
Booooooo...
There's a good chance I'll stop in anyway, but it'll be on my way into town instead of out.
Just picked up this bottle on a whim at the airport, since it's not available in my area. This is my first foray into bourbon and it's fucking delicious.

My love of whisky began in my late teens with low tier Canadian varieties. The bottom of that barrel (options abound) leaves something to be desired, and it's a journey I don't really want to repeat with another spirit. Thankfully there are lots of good inexpensive Canadian whiskys out there that I can and do enjoy when the need arises. I like to complement that selection with a top tier Canadian, a decent (to me) Scotch, and now a respectable bourbon.
There doesn't seem to be a lot of options in Canada, but I'd like to find a good bourbon for cocktails, so that will probably be my next purchase. EW Black label, Buffalo Trace, and Bulleit are the least expensive options on that front. There are some EH Taylor options comparable in price to this bottle, but I'll worry about that later.
This could become an expensive hobby/habit.
If you can find Lot 40 cask strength, buy it all(and mail me bottle to trade).
About to crack a 12year Eagle Rare store pick. Got a package today with some new samples to do some side by sides against various store picks.
I’m excited to lead my first Bourbon Tasting for a fundraiser coming up.
Got some Buff Trace, Eagle Rare, Weller, and some White Dog.
Will go through mash bill 1, the wheater etc.
I’m pretty stoked. Wish I could add an EH Taylor too, but we got the bourbon donated so didn’t feel like pushing too much
Derby theme party (during the race). My wife is running the hat making section and making sure the food is inspired by Kentucky (where she grew up).
I joked about checking the authenticity of the bourbon and went on about how my bud and I were discussing mash bills from Buff Trace... then I got the, hey, what bourbons would make a good tasting flight to discuss how it's made etc.
Connecticut whiskey? Could it be good?

Bastille aged in limousine oak
Fucking good, Smokey with no after taste and reasonably priced
Did a tasting flight of BT, weller SR, rip 10 and pvw 12 the other night at neighborhood watering hole. Was fun. That 12 was pretty damn good. Did an additional pour of it and the 10. Decided it was good idea to go home and pour some OWA 107 for comparison purposes of course. Next morning was rough.
not the finest but who am i to complain?

Depending on your region, you may be able to try Okanagan Spirits. They have a nice "bourbon", as well as a single, and a blended whiskey. The base is, naturally being in orchard country, apple. Plus, depending on season, special blends. Back to back against Eagle Rare, the hopped whiskey is a revelation.

Meanwhile the apocalypse begins. If you find this stuff in the states buy it now. The shelves in Japan are empty already.
