Sorry for your lose ACH. It is super tough when the babies leave us. I hope you can make a place in your life for a new best friend. I always told myself the present animal left, because the newest addition really needed a great home.

Cytology came back as negative. Surgery next week and further full biopsy.

Gus had Assectomy gland procedure Thursday. Vet found a mass on gland that he's worried about and thinks it wouldn't have got hit from the needle stick biopsy done previously. They're testing it, results back early next week.

He was miserable and drowsy yesterday when we picked him up.

Today he is well and truly pissed off and clearly very, very uncomfortable. Unable to settle at all.

Poor guy.

probably silly for some but because we don't have a dog and won't for a while, my son's only pet are fish. one died some time ago and he (4) was crushed. his mom intended to flush him but i wanted him to go through the process a little more substantially. we put him (greenfish.. he wants his first dog to be named bluedog) in a little box and buried him in yard (former) and we both said a few words about what greenfish meant to us and that he would always be in our hearts and memories. we buried him under the cherry tree i planted several years ago to bury my 18 year old cat who was my best buddy for many years and put a butterfly marker up as a headstone. it was very sad but i believe it helped him process it better than flushing, not to mention that i believe it's ok and necessary depending on your personality to treat all the things you care about with love and respect as long as possible. as time went on, we talked about the physical process of decomposing, and that now jake and greenfish had dissolved in the ground and nourished the tree and moved down to the creek behind the house, which flows to the willamette and eventually the ocean and is evaporated to the sky into clouds and rains on the earth and now they are everywhere. whenever we walked by we'd smile and say hi jake, hi greenfish, we love you! and when we had to move he picked a leaf from the cherry tree and pressed it in a book and we will put it in one of his scrapbooks with a picture.

Thanks everyone, we had a vet come to the house tonight to put her asleep. The actual process wasn't so bad, it was the working from home today by myself and helping her go to the bathroom and seeing how restless she was.

She was an awesome pup, made it to almost 9 as a decent sized Great Dane. Took her BC skiing, hiking, fishing and moved cross country 4 times. She was a gentle giant unless you threatened our kids, then she pulled out the momma card. RIP big girl...

Aw man. I'm so sorry. Idk what I'd do right now without my guy. Probably go off the deep end.

My best buddy Salomon took a rough turn this weekend. I don't think he'll be with me too much longer. He's got pneumonia, along with some other issues, and he isn't eating. I think you all know the rest...

It has been an AMAZING twelve years with this guy. We've been a lot of places and done some fun stuff. I couldn't have hoped for anything more the the love and companionship he's given me.

So...send him some vibes. He's certainly earned them I think. He isn't even gone, and I've been a mess since the moment we had to take him in. They live for us. He has loved so hard and so selflessly...like every good dog.

I'll miss him like no other. This hurts more than anything I've experienced. I love you, Salomon - you're a better dog than I ever deserved, and I'll never let you leave my heart. You have owned it since the day we met.
