Only if 1.5x isnt stiff enough for normal chop, but I highly doubt that. Aever steamrolls right over everything that isnt bumped out to shit.
How much do you weigh Tuco? I weighed 215lbs last season, but this next season I plan to come in at around 190. Sitting at 202 right now just from cardio burn, starting diet in September.
I am in better shape now, however still want a 1.5x so it can be slightly more poppy and playful like my old 191 BGs from 2015. With ever pound over 220, the aeverflex starts making more sense. I feel as I get into better shape, I dont need as stiff of a ski to take the beating my legs will be able to. And then I can use the slightly softer flex to my advantage in soft snow, moguls, and general playing around with them and having more fun.
Iggy even said 1.5x is the most balanced. I assume that means this ski works “best” in that flex. Do you guys know what that does to someone like me??? Immediately after he said that, I have been constantly thinking about 1.5x, Drooling over it..

Aever is only too stiff because where I ski gets sooo bumped out.. they dont actually need “wide open” terrain. I have skied some moderately tight trees in Alpine Meadows and they are good there. In tighter chutes and stuff they are good too. RES can change direction easily. They are just a ton of work in and out of the 3 foot deep, sierra cement chop moguls, which make up atleast 50% of my powder days. Its not the skis, it’s where I ski.
Maybe make them a dedicated Mammoth Ski? I have the Ikon pass this year, and plan to ski Mammoth at least once a week. I find mammoth to be a little smoother than Alpine or Squaw.. and I dont mind Supergoats on firmer stuff, although not ideal. I could just load the car up with Aevergoats and 191 Monsters, and pick based on the snow conditions.

J, where are you getting a pass this ski season? Not epic? They crossed the line last season? If your gonna deal with corporate bologna, might as well ski Squaw?
I mainly ride my local XC loop in Tahoe Vista, or the KB Superloop thing, behind Crystal bay and Kings Beach there.

Tuco, I prefer stiffer skis in untracked too. Aever are practically as damp as metal skis, but the bamboo core allows for some fun. Aever still have some pop, but I can get hung up in deep soft bumps with them. They are significantly softer than Monster 108s. I just need to stay out of the bumps with them, it’s a big mtn ski. Keeping them will motivate me to seek out steeper and deeper terrain.
J, I’m going to do day trips down there midweek. Mammoth is tied with JH for my favorite mountains. I can get much more vert in a day at Mammoth, than Big Sky. Simply because the Mammoth gondi can move so many people to the top of the mountain. At JH, you can take the gondi, but it doesnt access higher alpine terrain. Mammoth rocks.
