Fingers crossed that the precip remains mostly frozen in the mountains. Anticipating going nuts trying to figure out if it is raining or snowing at Jay Wednesday. Thankfully MTW leaves no doubts with their hourly reports.
Rudeness - if Jay gets rain, I'd be interested. What mountain you thinking?
I'll have to check what's open..
Ski La Reserve and Val Saint Come are my favourites. Be warned that they are SMALL but make up for it with some fun terrain
http://vimeo.com/59632972
pretty sure i posted this last year (=
la reserve isn't open yet.. would take quite a dump to get that run in play but it could happen. i think st-come is open weekends
I seriously don't feel like it's winter until I chug an outlandishly heavy beer and a bite of some non-meat yet strangely meat-like substance on the lift with bucket. Where is he?!??
I hear ya DW. I had the same issue until my little adventure in the cold r*in last Sunday, followed by hanging out at our local bump of a hill (Granite Gorge) this past Saturday. Finally ready for the season... just need snow in my neck of the woods to complete it! Oh, and heavy beers in the fridge as of last night. yum. BRING IT!
Dang! here I go to all the trouble of mountin snow tires and fixing the brakes. And after all that, we gonna git "A MIX OF SW/IP AND EVEN -FZRA"...
Well, don't that beat all?
You mean napping. I've only seen that guy ski and nap ;)
i'm sorry but it's November and shouldn't be 20 fucking degrees at the beach. wtf?!
59 on Wednesday with hot rain. will be nice to give the wood stove a break.
forecast for up north looks great if Wednesday didn't exist.

Definitely did not expect anyone to recognize the Mighty Gaw on here. I also learned to ski there, but it wasn't much of a coincidence since it's 5 minutes from the house.
I've been working rentals there for the last couple years while home on break, it's a funky place for sure, tons of fun. I can tell you not much has changed…ever. They still have the two main lifts going up the "big hill" (the one on the right has a mid station). They put a magic carpet out in front of the main building and an even smaller one tucked into the corner of the main slope, and they do tubing now as well.

This storm trending so far West has me in a really shitty mood. Go east you son of a bitch. EAST! Or trend colder or have some cold air daming or something, fuck.
Yeah this is some so close bull shit.
The only thing to be done now is see how the chips fall...and drink.
Nihiles worked on patrol at Campgaw, never made it to go visit him though. Wish I had.
29.1` bob, temp up from 9.3` at 10PM

winter#3 starts Thursday:D

yeah, and stop using fucking snow tires pre January thaw.
rog
true that. on my old accord wagon I had a set of great Dunlop snows that I left on for the last 2 years, year round as I just couldn't like the idea of buying a whole set of all seasons with how well my snows rolled in the summer:)

not sure if this will look better or worse after the next 48h, but here are some Sutton Glades on sunday... NOT IN!
Guess the Jay Cloud floated on by this time..

Locked in for Friday at Stratton.
Since drinking may be the better option due to the weather, a PSA:
There is some good news on the right-coast, the 2013 Vintage Ale is in at TJ's.
Last year's was pretty nice and seems to be aging rather well. Got my case of 2013 at lunch today; cellaring it when I get home. If it is good, I probably get another...
The last 2009 is waiting for a vertical....
Here is the 2013:

Is sugarbush blowing snow? I've got Tuesday off and looking to slide on something somewhere
what is all this ski talk during mtn bike season?
I don't like you.
Based on this, looks like N Vt will have 15 hours above freezing, only slightly above freezing but warm enough for rain. http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/Imageanis.php
At least it continues precipitating for a while after that blue line moves East of us.
http://mag.ncep.noaa.gov/Imageanis.php
If only that damn blue line would track 100 miles to the East.
