THE Aspen/Snowmass / Greater Roaring Fork Valley 23-24 Thread
25f @ 6:30 I try to climb in sun.
Melton to Mountain View was still frozen, but will be muddy later.

I’d give it 24 hours.
I’m going to ride the Pass, since it’s the last, car less day.

I bet Sky Mountain dirt, will be really good, at some point.
I will ride down and check it out, in a little bit.
Ran up smuggler and checked out HC Valley. I’d stay off of upper valley trails today.

I’ll likely head up there after work
Red Hill road great today at lunch. It is always a ball buster, but unless there are a bunch of trails I don't know about (I mean, there obviously are, but based on location I am guessing they are similar to our other local trails), Red Hill is pretty unique for the valley. It would be an awesome accomplishment to be able to ride that trail all the way to the top clean with no stops!

I ride it a couple times a week since it’s so close by and it’s never dull. You’ll start cleaning everything if you ride it enough. It’s also significantly easier now after the work they did 2ish years ago. The S turn towards the bottom of 3 gulch is prob the hardest feature now and that used to be one of the easier ones. I’ve been working on cleaning the lower blue ribbon climb but that’s an aerobic feat to get it in one shot
That stretch of basalt rock seems to get me. If I was completely fresh…maybe. But after coming up the rest of the trail, when I get to that part, I don’t have the pop in my legs. Gotta keep riding.
Yes, that one right turn at the beginning (I think like the third switchback) is a bitch to clean.
