Polis just shutdown all restaurants and bars statewide. This hysterical reaction is absolutely stoopid.

^agreed
How about a review of how serious this pandemic really is. The over reaction is just not justified.

Apparently Chile is on total lock down. Borders sealed. No one in, or out.
But, they also have some social/political problems, and it’s still a question if they can keep the protestors off the streets with a plebiscite to vote on their constitution previously scheduled for April 3rd.
Could be extra ugly.

Seems appropriate given the thread title.

This has happened to a number of people I’ve talked to. And my daughter did have the flu (tested) about 5 weeks ago and then had some fever/sore throat/cough about 3 weeks ago...we were saying the same thing yesterday. Maybe it has been running through the population for awhile.
I still think we need to overact and just be apart for awhile.
Yeah, the reality doesn’t match the hysteria. If this was 30 years ago before 24/7 media, there would not be this reaction to shutdown the world and kill the economy.

Moab is going to have to shutdown like Summit County just did.
My daughter had an illness in January the doctor tabbed as flu. Test came back negative and he said she’d be well in a day or two. Had low grade fever 4 days later. He then thought the test was faulty...so it’s crossed our minds.

That was so last night...
March 9, one week ago there were 100,000 cases and ~4000 deaths for COVID-19. March 16 it's 180,000+ and 7,000+ deaths. More cases reported just today alone in the US than we had total on March 9.
Just saying you may want to wait and run those numbers when we are more than 2 months in to a global outbreak when comparing across diseases from which we have mult-year data sets.
Did you know it is estimated 2-3 Billion people are infected with TB? 1/3 of the world. Spent 12 yrs working on TB and could never wrap my head around those numbers. And there has been a vaccine since the 1920's.
Realistically (and imo) SARS-CoV2 will likely be no more than a higher-virulent flu strain once year 2-3 hits and both herd immunity and a vaccine (hopefully) put limits on it. But in the short term, it's still running at best a 1%-2% mortality rate, or 10-20X higher than a typical flu (<0.1%) with as much or potentially greater transmissibility.
So spats and steep are homeboys. Spats, the tone of your posts really changed t his month from all years past. New drug or new degree? Both can affect the brain.
