Does anyone know if ZipFit has any plans of developing a wrap liner?
I really hope they kept the super durable inner fabric.
New vid on Dave Searle’s YouTube page on the espresso liner. Looks pretty interesting

Only 500 being made...
I’m glad someone with his resources is talking about heel lift. For too long, those of us with skinny heels have been gaslit into thinking we just need to see a better boot fitter. The problem runs much deeper and the skinny heel tourers have been waiting for this solution.
Nice video, but a few more details would be nice, like overall thickness of the rest of the liner etc.
I’ve never used zip fits. Does the cork pouch/pocket extend over the lateral aspect of the heels or just around the ankle area?
This link may help - shows details of the cork pouch:

The pouch extends from just behind the instep back to the side of the Achilles.
Very helpful, thanks!
I haven’t read the whole thread I admit, so apologies if this is well covered. But I don’t understand the weight on their liners marketed for touring. I believe they’re 550+ grams per liner, so 2x plus an intuition or similar. And then I see reviews of touring boots on say Blister, where a reviewer talks up how how some 1300 gr stock boot skis, and then later sidenotes that they’re running it with zipfits - so it’s really a 1600 ish gr boot. I understand all the positives on em for resort boots but they just seem way heavy for touring. Semi rant I guess, but also a semi question if I’m missing something! Cuz these definitely have a hardcore following and I occasionally get intrigued.
I think that’s the point of the Espesso liner.. it sounds like it’s about 315 grams. So still a bit heavier than an Intuition but hopefully with the Zipfit benefits that Intuition can’t really offer. I have really low volume heel and ankle and low volume touring boots barely exist. I’ve had limited success filling that space up with Intuitions, hence my interest
^^^ ah, ok that is great to hear. I guess I’d been looking at the older Gara. 315 is much more interesting as a touring option. Thx!

Because some people tour and focus on ski quality. They may bring bigger skis, they want to ski like they are on hill, and they want a good fitting boot. Intuition can't touch zipfit in terms of fit and liner density. Most notably is how during a day of touring, a zipfit liner doesn't go all loose and mushy like an Intuition does because of the heat. As someone who can get free Intuitions, there has not been a single day that I would prefer to use them over my Zipfits.</p>
As a 100kg person touring 60-80 days per winter in GFT's, I'd wager it's something else thats limiting my uphill travel than the few hundred grams extra per feet.
Not using the lightest skis either, but I can slog on for long days (+1800m vert etc.) as long as the pace is leisurely (z1-z2) and the track is reasonably not steep.
Been investing quite a bit of effort in dryland strength training in recent years too. Not planning to break any fkt's of course. Maybe the weight is more noticeable for smaller persons.
I'm planning on teaching this winter but I know my feet will destroy me unless I buy some zipfits, I'm debating between the Corsa or the Gara LV. I'm downsized into a 26.5 Solomon S Pro Alpha 130 and the fit is perfect other than my toes and shins still get owned from my toes being too long and my shins/calves too skinny. I'm heavily leaning towards the Corsa as long as I can stand in them all day due to them being the lowest volume liner (of course you can add cork to fill volume in but I'm double downsized). Anyone in a similar situation and had to make a decision between the two? Leather lining sounds like a better deal for precision I just want to make sure I wont end up with bruises and blisters from it. I plan to teach at either DV Solitude or Aspen, do you know of great bootfitters who work with ZipFits near those resorts? Thanks
The world cup sidewinder would have probably been my choice but I think ZipFit stopped making them for some reason. Really prefer leather.
I have a like new 26.5 world cup sidewinder if you're interested.
That leather interior is superior.
That Salomon is a 98mm last right? Definitelt dont go with the Corsa if thats the case.
The Corsa isnt just low volume in terms of amount of cork that comes in the pockets, but the whole construction is much lowere volume. The sole in particular is much narrower than a Gara. I think if you were to put a Corsa in a 98 last boot (even if you have downsized) it may not interface right with the wider shell last.
Did you consider the Workhorse?
second this. If you want leather the workhorse is the way to go. I have those and am super happy I chose them over the gara. I travel to ski so I'm out from opening to closing everyday and in some cases adding night skiing as well to maximize time. So you're talking super long days. The leather makes a huge difference. You can always remove cork from the workhorse worst case if you want to reduce some volume.
I bought the GFT last year for my touring boots, but with the new Espresso coming out I could see replacing them to get the lighter and warmer liner. What if I used the GFTs to replace the stock liners in my Lange Shadows? Would I notice any loss of stiffness over a stock DH Lange liner?
You may NOT want a WC Sidewinder if you double-sized-down. The plastic sidewinder material adds considerable bulk to the cuff and the medial side of the ankle. I moved from WCs to WC Sidewinders to stiffen up my old Promachines (98mm last). That worked well for me, but I didn't have a super tight performance fit. For reference, swapping to the Sidewinder translated to loosening my cuff buckles 2-3 ladder rungs.
If you do locate a Sidewinder, I definitely suggest you try it with your shells before purchasing to see if you can make it work. The cuff is really bulky compared to their other liners.
Whens espresso dropping? Anyone know?
