Yeah but he's a dick and a choking dog, that should count against him.

Yeah but he's a dick and a choking dog, that should count against him.
I guess it is a matter of preference, but I would take koufax, gibson, johnson and even page over him (from the old farts)
Also,
you have absolutely no way of knowing if christy mathewson wasn't as good. My god the man debuted in 1900.
Although this is pretty damn impressive:
Mathewson's Giants won the 1905 World Series over the Philadelphia Athletics. Mathewson was the starting pitcher in Game 1 and pitched a 4-hit shutout for the victory. Three days later, with the series tied 1-1, he pitched another 4-hit shutout. Then, two days later in Game 5, he threw a 6-hit shutout to clinch the series for the Giants. In a span of only six days, Mathewson had pitched three complete games without allowing a run.
I have no idea if Mathewson was as good. But back then stats are a lot different too.
And this is impressive- 2 20 strikeout games 7 Cy Youngs.
So Koufax Gibson Johnson Page...and then Clemens still in the top 5? At the least its debateable.
Omar vizquel 11 gold gloves and a 274 career ba.
Ozzie Smith 13 gold gloves and a 262 career ba.
Im guessing Vizquel belongs on this list and in the Hall Of Fame.
Roberto Alomar 10 gold gloves 2700 hits and a 300 career ba is on his way to the Hall as well.
Ventura belongs on the i got my ass kicked by Nolan Ryan list.
Satchell Page belongs in the rotation some where...
How can anyone pick Ripken over A-Rod at ss?
EDIT...that's a dumb question, I know how....YOU'RE FUCKING MORONS
A-Rod broke in at ss and played there until he came to the Yankees. He was at least as good of a glove as Jeter.
And don't give me that choke shit...the only reason the Yankees have a shot at the post season is because Arod, Posada and Jeter carried them through the all star break.
A Rod was a much better glove than Jeter, Derek is not a good SS.
And I agree with you, Your crazy if you don't A rod for SS
I hate him with a passion BUT, with some question of who really would be the best DH in this thread, is there a reason why the man with the most runs scored in history, most stolen bases, most lead off homers, 2nd most walks ever and who is 20th on the all time hits list, is not even mentioned??
Was Ricky a DH?
Listen to the man. He may have three nipples but he speaks the truth. Alomar was an all around great player. A 5 tool infielder. And I ROD is a great great catcher- at worst the second best ever to Bench, but I wouldnt think youre nuts if you have I ROD first
And Rickey Henderson is top 20 all time, but hes not better than Mays Williams Bonds. Plus, who doesnt love Rickey.
1B Gerhig
2B Rogers Hornsby
SS ARod
3B Mike Schmidt
LF Barry
CF Mays
RF Ruth
C Bench
DH Edgar Martinez
RP Pedro
LP Big Unit
RP Mariano
If I am not restricted to positions they actually "played", I'd drop Edgar and pick up Ted Williams.
And if I had to fill a 5 man rotation, I'd add Koufax, Gibson, and Maddux. I love Ryan, but he just doesn't belong in that rotation. I hate Clemens' steroid using ass, and Tom Seaver also falls just short.
Ricky was everything that a man could be, ricky was ricky and nobody was ricky like ricky. He even out rickied himself, and ricky ricardo, and ricky rathman.
He was THE RICKY, and we shall never see another like him.
And for old times sake.. oddibe mcdowel. <-- worse baseball card ever (other than pete rose - manager)
C - Fisk
1B - Jimmy Foxx
2B - Bobby Doerr
3B - Wade Boggs
SS - Joe Cronin (I wouldn't mind Burleson though)
LF - Yaz
CF - Williams (sorry Ted but Yaz ruled the Green Monster)
RF - Dwight Evans
LHP - Lefty Grove
RHP - Cy Young
Reliever - Eckersley
What?
I think there is a pattern with Icemangs list....... Somehow.... somewhere....
Ankiel and Bonds go together like Track marks and ....... arms? Shoulders? Asses?
don't forget Troy Glaus!
Oh that guy....
The worst part about this for ankiel is losing the movie rights.
Dang it all.
