All im saying is that these questions are most likely posted by someone who is invested in the community, and doesn't want to fuck it up. Also a quality mag has backed it up, so maybe we should let it ride. I hate censorship, which is also why I like this place. Been around for awhile and personally think threads should never be deleted (besides pictures of shit, obviously). Shmoe made his buisness public, and got money from the public, so now its all public.

And no, he doesn't owe us an explanation, but WE owe him the ability to read this thread and decide for himself.

This is like watching a slow rolling train wreck.
Unfortunately, ALL communities have suspicions, alliances, jealousies, traitors, heroes, gossipers, muck-rakers, truth seekers, givers, takers, and all of the rest. Human nature will rear it's ugly head when things get serious...and this was a pretty serious matter. That STILL doesn't make whatever happened the forum's business, IMO.

IMHO, Z is right. Let's not start censorship because a particular subject is distasteful.

Also, I am going to play devil's advocate and suggest you re-read CM's post.

This is pure speculation, but one or more of the mags, (probably from UT) have become privy to information that might change the way this situation is viewed. Just read between the lines of both CM and AC's posts.

Many of you may want to view the situation simply as a woman commits suicide, a man is left grieving and the maggots respond with sympathy. That is the easy and simple way to view the situation.

CM seems to be trying to let you know that the truth might be much more difficult to handle. The knee jerk response is to discredit CM and to essentially 'shut him up', in an effort to not have your view of the situation complicated.

CM if you have information that you think is important and that you can back up, I suggest you give Shmoe his chance, but you better be ready to back up your suggestions of statements made by Shmoe that are "misleading or selfserving or worse."

CM, you clearly put alot of thought into your post, therefore, I hope for your sake that you put alot of thought into all the potential repercussions of your accusations.

Je zus K riest! What a bunch of crap. I can only speak for myself. I knew and still know full well what I was doing sending money to Doug. It is the least I can do. It's what this "community" is all about. I don't care about and am not at all interested in the "details" of this time in his life. It's none of my fucking business and I would venture to say it is also none of anyone else's! I just wanted to help a brother out. My eyes were and are wide open. Doug can do whatever he wishes with the funds sent. Nice way to tarnish an incredible effort on everyone's part.

What exactly is the point of this thread? Maybe DM was doing something immoral (which is a completely subjective concept, btw), maybe they both were. Maybe she cheated, maybe he cheated. Maybe she committed suicide cause he hurt here. Maybe vice versa. I'm not saying any of this is true, but of all the scenarios you can dream up, do any of them really matter?

Dude lost his life partner. Dude lost his will to live. They were together 7 YEARS. Even if they were on the verge of divorce, SHE PROBABLY KNEW HIM BETTER THAN ANYONE AND VICE VERSA. It's fucking tramatic. Psycologically and financially.

I don't care what Shoe does with my money. The only possible thing that could make me want it back is if we found out he murdered her, which is absurd. Having to explain this is absurd. The fact this thread exists--and that shoe will have to read all this--is absurd.

You could have gotten the same info with a simple embedded image, which then would have showed up in your apache logs with an IP that you could have then run hostname lookups on. Oh, and if the content type is image/gif, then don't try to feed the browser a jpg.

He couldn't even learn that, his logging file only lists IPs, not usernames or anything else to identify the IP so he'd just have a big list of numbers and nothing else.

You already pointed out one problem with that approach, but another is that the time someone viewed the second page is not the same as when they post, IF they post.

Even if he could get the MAC address he'd have no way to tie it to a particular user, same as an IP.
