Max, it says on their website that the pass prices will go up Labor Day weekend.
Fuck Loveland, I can't get a decent latte there!

Loveland sucks. There is no good backcountry access. The chair one gate has been permanently closed so don't even bother looking for it or any other gates anymore, the stuff back there is usually sunbaked anyway. As for the pillow lines they're extremely dangerous (almost unskiable). Chair 9 is way too cold and windy, so is chair 6. The snow is always funky and deep and is really had to ski unless you have those "fat" powder skis. Trust me, if you haven't been to Loveland yet, or you've been there and didn't find any good terrain, don't even waste your time looking for it. The only good thing about Loveland is the locals, they're pretty cool, don't follow them though, they're don't know where any good terrain is either.
Look how flat it is.

No challenging terrain at all.

Just kidding, except for the part about following the locals.
Seriously, If you decide to go OB, plan to go with someone who already knows the area and current conditions well. Don't just follow someone out of a gate. There's ALOT of windload and some very dangerous terrain if you make a wrong turn.
2-04-06 inbounds.

There are "cougars" at Loveland? Where? :rolleyes:Quote:

I've skied Luvland and had some sweet days - no crowds and lapped it up - 6 awesome turns in that superbowl area ;) ... not super steep but BC might be a good call when caked and baked right - beaconed of course, that shit goes all the time up there.
Aspen/Highlands and Loveland for the fix in between ... Colorado sucksn't.
:fmicon:
Mmmyeeeessss... on a semi-related note, do the 4-packs to "aspen" for CU students include Highlands? Cuz that is DEFINITELY on my list for the season (along with Altabird, BZE, the Butte, and Silverton)...Quote:

I am going to get Loveland and the Five Mountain pass. This will be my first season in Colorado. I am flying out next week for 9 interviews. I hope I get a job! Will be moving Aug 28th. I am so pumped. Gonna show you boys how we ski bumps in the east! Then ask you the proper way to rip the Nickel:FIREdevil
In all seriousness, does Loveland have a shot (besides the bump fest at chair 1) that is more than 400 ft of sustained vert?
If you ski otr from top to the bottom is around 1500 ft.
I used to go by the rule; You gotta ride the same amount of chair time up vs. amount of turn time down. Then they invented Hi-speed chairs...Quote:

You are going to move to CO and ski bumps? :nonono2: ;)Quote:

G'day. You gave me a ride. I still have your number, so I'll call you when they're selling them.Quote:

Buy the A-Basin pass.
Or better yet buy the Vail pass.
And besides there are no Cougars at Loveland..........
Sweet, please do! Can't wait to rip some bumps with you bro.Quote:

I'm sooooooo busy, I shouldn't even be posting, but somebody should check the vert from the top of marmot turds down to the highway. I think that'd be the longest line.

Well, from 13,010' on the ridge to the parking lot would be 2,190' vertical.Quote:

No, its not "sustained."Quote:

Sorry you where "unimpressed" with skiing Loveland. You must not have found a local to ski with. You should get Shera to guide you around.... Better yet, get Frank Zappa to take you to the CA trees.......

Oh, come on Halstead. You know I havn't been in there since it was my own personal land grab - back when we had to do all that secret "forest modification" (plug the leads with sapplings, squid traps, barbed wire, land mines...) in the summer months.Quote:

Well you obviously missed the point of you guys showing my how to rip the "nickel" I guess not everyone read that thread. aka POWDER...like we don't have it on the EC...and as far as skiing bumps is concerned...
of course I will still ski bumps after I move to CO...not every day is an Epic powder day and besides I like skiing bumps. What is wrong with knowing how to rip the entire mountain? I have to tell you...I would much rather know how to ski bumps well than not know how:biggrin:
Are you sure about that? :eek:Quote:
