As if being in college and skiing at Alta weren't already two of the greatest things in life, now you get to do both for under $500! Not a bad setup, dood.

Alta Silver Card-UTAH RESIDENTS ONLY
$99
Receive a $20 discount on an adult all area day pass each time the card is presented. The card is transferable, but can only be used once per day. Residents must present a Utah Drivers license to be issued a card. Whoever uses the card on any given day must also show a Utah drivers license. Limited to one card per resident. Not available to season pass holders. Must be purchased by September 29, 2005 or while supplies last.
You think that might be just for graduate students, since they don't need as many classes?Quote:

Alta is in a full-on posting orgy until next Winter. Must not be much to do in Utah in the Summer.
I think you mean a tram, twice the vertical and no crowds.Quote:
$1950 for 4 months of skiing on less snow and no tram!
A "G" = One thousand dollars.
Xover meant "one hundred dollars."
Does that clear it up for everyone now?
Did anyone really believe Snowbird raised thier pass price $1000 in one season? :nonono2:
I'd love to live somewhere that has powder year round but atleast i'm still getting 5-6 days a week on skis. i gotta think there are few others still out there skiing too.Quote:

Just seems to me that a 20% jump is kind of a lot, especially since it's obviously for the new quad (debatable, but I don't think it really helped anything...) and the new cafeteria (who needs that shit?) I just wish Alta would stick to its guns and keep things the way they've always been. Instead they're doing the same things all the other resorts are. Soon we'll have $60 lift tickets there, just like everywhere else.
We're dicks! We're reckless, arrogant, stupid dicks. And the people that complain about Utards are pussies. And the Village Idiot is an asshole. Pussies don't like dicks, because pussies get fucked by dicks. But dicks also fuck assholes: assholes that just want to shit on everything. Pussies may think they can deal with assholes their way. But the only thing that can fuck an asshole is a dick, with some balls. The problem with dicks is: they fuck too much or fuck when it isn't appropriate - and it takes a pussy to show them that. But sometimes, pussies can be so full of shit that they become assholes themselves... because pussies are an inch and half away from ass holes. I don't know much about this crazy, crazy world, but I do know this: If you don't let us fuck this asshole, we're going to have our dicks and pussies all covered in shit!

They can't insist you be able to drive - some folks dont' and a state ID should be good enough.
Wow! That's incredible. Now that's a company that understands customer service.Quote:

Huh? Twice the vertical of what, the Bird? No, not even a "G" more vert.Quote:

Not to speak out of turn, but it wasn't too long ago that Alta did away with the lottery for season passes. My understanding was if you weren't old school enough, or a employee, you were SOL until your # came up to buy a pass. So what's worse, your pass price going up or not being able to get one at all?
Gramps, I hear you though. Any increase in prices always sucks, especially for something that passholders may percieve to be unneeded, like funding a new lodge/caferteria. Stick it to the day ticketers, right? Seems that a certain resort in bcc needed a new day lodge and beginner lift, and tix prices are going up accordingly.
Btw, we bought Silver cards for a $100 apiece last season, and we would loan them out all the time. Seems to me a collection could be made for a bunch of Silver cards for out-of-towners. We will be picking up a pair again this year to loan to friends, and travellers who bring beer and other goodies.
