Man. Leon just crushes it in the 12th for the walkoff. Almost into Lansdowne Street.
Sale looked excellent in his first start. Good game all around.

FRANKIE FUCKING LINDOR!!!!
Makes up for a costly 2 unearned run (and exceedingly rare for the platinum glove winner) error by following it up with an angry swing solo shot AND a go-ahead 9th inning GRAND SLAM!
Twins...3-0. Has hell frozen over? Getting some decent pitching and clutch hitting. Let's go!
Cubbies World Series trophy presentation is pretty badass with "It's a long way to the top if you wanna rock n roll"
Although they cut it off early. You don't cut Bon off, Cubbies. Only Bon does that. New curse.
Any of you DC area mags going to the Nats game Friday?

And the season kicks off at Wrigley. I like our chances - its going to be another fun season.
^ That was a pretty boring game until the last couple innings, then it got pretty good.
I just had to put this here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8S0CDtEz_Bo
I was reminded today that Sale knifed up an entire locker room of jerseys last year that got him scratched from the game.
I love the crazy in baseball.
Nice little walk off win for the Tribe home opener today thanks to Dr. Smooth.
Welcome back Michael Brantley!
I may have found a shirt to replace Party at Napoli's:

By the way webdudes, the new photo linking restrictions suck balls.
Made it to my first game of the season last night. Great game with the Mariners taking it 2-1 on a good performance from King Felix.

You take those? Nice seats!
Chris Sale is dominating. If the Sox keep him off the mound on throwback night I think he could win the Cy Young.
Yankees win 6 in a row. And WTF, who is that fat guy pitching? Can't be CC
Yankees win 8th in a row
Helloooooo...chowds????
For stats geeks, a really good article by Nate Silver on closer usage and the save: https://fivethirtyeight.com/features...lief-pitchers/
Meh. You can have your early season wins. Come back in August and we'll talk.
Sox are looking sharp. Winning lots of close games late. If they can stop giving up 2-3 runs in the first every game they'll be on track. Panda is becoming equal parts frustrating and amazing. I guess that's his MO talking to SF fans who watched him all the time.
No trash talk until August? What fun is that?
Yankees suck.
How's that for an opening salvo?
CC might be good again now that he's fat again.
Red Sox clearly have the best outfield in baseball, and probably the best pitching staff, and the infield is pretty amazing too, good luck chumps.
Panda's on a diet, it'll be fine.
Would you trade Xander for anyone in baseball? No. And Pedroia is nails. So the middle is good. Panda is a weak link, okay. but if he hits...
Moreland is killing it at the plate, but any ball not thrown directly to him is suspect.
Frankie Lindor MVP.
You heard it here first.
12 game hit streak
.392 ba
4 HR
13 runs
5 doubles
1 triple
and reigning gold and platinum glove winner.
11-4 victors tonight too if it matters.
They'll give it to Trout no matter what
Probably true. Guy is amazing, but there's a whole young crop under him ready to be recognized - Lindor at the top of that list IMO.
Fun story of the night: avid powerboatsman and 40 year old soft-tosser and Eddie Vedder chum Bronson Arroyo earns a win tonight with his old club, the Reds.
Trout is still only 25, he might get better.
