Verbier Ride Big Mountain Results

beside the xtreme, on the next WE (March 18-20) there is in verb the outdoor film festival with some 20-30 movies on free evening display in the street fair. Previous editions were really RAD. Bring some warm clothing, buy some raclette and fendant and enjoy some (otherwise) very hard to get little independent masterpieces

the tracks you see were from competitors. The lift has never been opened this winter

there was a fu*kin wind that turn S and W exposed snow into ice yesterday.... the bec was prolly sheltered..... more details to follow

Oh my...those pics of Mt. Gele and Bec de Rosse make Kirkwood's world tour finals venue, the Cirque, look like green circle groomer walk in the park.

Yeah I would make sure it's not region encoding too, or it will be a waste of $$$$ ordering the DVD.

blah blah blah...look at the picture...blah blah blah....I've seen the mountain up close with my own eyes...there are options to the skier's right that don't involve mega exposure that the pictures don't quite capture. Would I want to experience a fall? Hell no. Still, I wouldn't call every line a death wish or only to be skied by the absolute best.

I've skied Mont Gele. It's worthy of a contest with plenty of lines to choose.

My advice. Get out to Verbier.

dude, all my sons (6, 10 and 13) have skied the mt gelé. They're certainly not xtremo heroes, simply there's plenty of options (particularly on E face) that are much much more easy than the lines depicted by the pic on the w face. This notwithstanding, lines in the pic are tough. Not as tough as the bec des rosses, but surely OK for a contest with free access such as the verbier ride.
