Things are starting to look better. Realistically though, don't we go through this most years? It seems like we don't get snow that sticks around until right around Thanksgiving, then it really starts piling up between then and Christmas. That's what we get for being at low elevation, I guess.
I don't know if that White Pass shot warrants a thumbs up. Maybeby tomorrow morning it will be considerablt whiter.

Looks like over a foot expected tonight into tomorrow. If anyone is looking at any of the relevant areas tomorrow and deems them skiable, lemme know. I got nothing else going on.
Heard Baker is skiable or might be by the weekend??? Any confirmation out there?
I trudged around on T-line up to Crater Rock Saturday night into Sunday morning. We need a dump before it'll get right. every step was either a glazed half-buried rock or knee deep snow, but nothing was connectable for a ski run. The Zig Zag was sheer ice with 1 inch of pow on top, great for ass glissading.
Hood need snow like Pete need sleep.

Missions base has so much snow. though its mainly man made and icy. but its packed=no rocks. there a medium jump built on a hump and 20ft rail and and a 10 ft mail box. there a nice teepee rail that hasn't been pulled up yet, but will be soon. Apex opened last weekend if you wanna ski at resort.

It's in So. Canada, near the border and kinda out of the way. There use to be an out and back 100 miler, The Eagle, that was held there in early September. I entered that race one year, but was forced to miss it. Damn!Quote:

Edit: GGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRR!!!! I have a dentist appointment on Wednesday and I fly to Bozeman on Thursday. I NEVER Miss opening day. Damnit! I can skip the dentist. I can get another appointment in two months or so. They had better open on Wednesday.
Apex is reporting one trail open for racers only. No word on opening for public.
Had my hopes up for Saturday, too.

We need to get some of those big fall/winter storms rolling in to build up some base. Doesn't look like anything significant is on the horizon for the next several days. Normally, I wouldn't be too worried, but last year made me nervous...
The base to midway is skiable and if you wanna hike alot the top is skiable too but you'll need rock skis.Quote:

Since i am not a fairweather fairy like fakerboy, i can say that there was nipple deep snow up top in spots, and faceshots were had, along with some super extreme skinning action between runs. I don't think i even hit a rock, although I blasted through more than one bush with my hands protecting my face :D Back up tomorrow for even better faceshots since the snow level is down around 2000' tonight into tomorrow. It's just around the corner......
