That is SO f'n wise!...
...and funny.

Even though I am a creepy, older guy, I still have not yet broken 40.
I act way older and crustier tho...
I'am in my mid fifties, but my prostate is much older! :)
It took some finding.
But first, I have a question:
Elder as in the most years alive? Or Elder as in Most Years Skiing?
Not the same thing, always.
Some of us wrinklies mess things up by not even learning to ski, or board, until we're almost in our graves...:fmicon:

OK, now I just might qualify for this crown. 63 years on skis.

Game. Set. Match.
BakerBunny moves on to the finals against any challengers willing to step up and post an old school shot of themselves better then that one.
Kudos to BakerBunny. Many of the people on this board are half his age and too clueless when it comes to the interwebz that they can't even manage to post pictures. Not only does it appear that he is the oldest skier here but he is also a rather savvy interwebz senior citizen.
Page. Top. Beotches!
Ha, Very Nice! :yourock:
But, I've been thinking again :rolleyes2
The ELDER MAGGOT...
Well, that must be whoever was the first to suggest moving over to TGR from PowderMag, yeh? Or an early poster on Powdermag?
Or whoever has the earliest Join date here?
I have a fear it might just be SuPu  :nonono2: :frown:
I took a quick look at that RobStory/Skiing thread. The earliest join date I could see was 09-28-2001!
Any Mags join in the 20th Century?
I'm out
I didn't try skiing til '74
At 43 I am probably the oldest gurl here. But I started skiing late. And as far as an "elder" if that implies wisdom, look elsewhere because I'm not sure what I dispense is all that wise.
I LOVE that photo btw...hope you have that up & framed!
:)
Sprite
This is such a great shot. I couldn't fight the urge to optimize and level it.
Are you and your sister (I'm assuming that's your sister) actually lashed to the skis here? Mom must have been a strong skier.

fkna nice work jibij!!!!!!! :yourock:
What about 0BernhardFranz? I mean he has to be senile right?
Guess again, lil sister! I am 44. Is there a gurl here older than me? I've always wondered 'bout that. I learned to ski in 1968, 40 years ago. Mom's got some old ski pics of all of us, but none as nice as BakerBunny's. Love that shot.
Anyway, I'm too new to TGR to be an elder in any kind of way...I kinda like it like that. ;)
Youre not 44, I'm going to guess 38
That photo completely kicks ass!
The binders look like some kind of early series Silveretta.
And just think how comfy those boots would be. You could easilly outstride everyone on the uptrack.
I think those straps on the kids feet are kinda like a gator type deal & part of the wollies on the one, not binded to the ski. Not too long ago even nylon type ski pants had some under foot thing. That stuff I remember worked great for keeping the snow out when post holing.
Primo! I wanna be Bakerbunny when I grow up.
Funny thing about the poll thread Turk linked is now most everyone is a notch up in catagory. :)
There used to be a dude called Grandpa Cletus who was 69.
We called them "bear traps". Basically a piece of angle iron with a toe strap. Your fibia was the release mechanism.
BTW, thanks to everybody for the vibes in this thread! Funny thing is, they had a thread about like this on Epic Ski
... wait for it ...
... and I was the youngest one there!:biggrin:
BakerBunny, awesome pic. What a childhood you must have had!
 I think it looked much the same to me.
(But I did get weirded out by it, back then. I clicked on the Results, and found myself already there  I guess the act of clicking added me in)
Oh yeh, according to said Poll, BakerBunny might have some competition for that Crown. From the Oldest Category:
Quote:
60+ (you ROCK!)
BakerBunny, basom, powder11, Villiage Idiot
What does this mean? Seems to be a contradiction in terms.
I vaguely remember existing before I discovered floating through the whiteness, don't really think of it as living.
I am not old, definitely not wise, but I did issue forth onto the world the same year as this beauty.
While I'm not the eldest of the elders, I'm certainly not leading the youth parade.
My age in cars years

LOL
I'm not the oldest, though I may look like it. I've lived a hard life. :D (All that smoking, drugs, drinking, & STDs)
Each year I'm still getting faster uphill & downhill on skis and MTBs, so age doesn't seem to matter at all. I do like to hang out with you young bucks because all my friends my age are stuck in their Lazy Boys most of the time.
I <heart> this thread. For almost two pages I was kind of worried that the answer was me. But no.
x2 on the hearting thread part. I only hope I still rip as hard as some of the more "senior" mags on this board when I get to that age.
old and narcissistic, apparently, because I bet you were searching on your name. :p
I recall skiing at Mansfield when their were only two lifts the T-bar and the single chair $.25 a ride and the seven turns on the Nose Dive,
Marble Mountain, before it became Whiteface, and there were many areas that provided great fun that are now only memories. Now if I could only find my car keys.
