Last question. I've never been there. Collective thought, Moto-lite or Demo 7 with one ring up front? Probably only have room for one bike.
barlett wash used to have a ton of spots up it, but I heard they have fenced them off now..you might want to confirm with other peeps.
Hmmm. Hmmmmmmmmmmmm. Hmmmm. I think I'm in, I just need to double check with my better half tonight.
Depends what rides you want to do. But bring the D7 since I'm bringing mine and we can be bike buddies ;) 2 rings is ideal but I've done Moab on 1 ring before and it's doable.
edit to add: you will be wayyyy undergunned riding a moto-lite with the AG's, myself, etc.
Something tells me I'm about to be waaaaay undergunned no matter what I ride.
Damn this ALMOST makes me wish I wasn't going to be in the Sawtooth's for 4 days. :fm:
I hate work!!!
Fuq it. I'm in. I'll leave at the crack Sat morning from SLC. See y'all there.
I hope all you Ideehoeans are bringing lots of fancy leaded beer with ya.
Any special leaded beer requests?
Save some cooler space and you shall be rewarded. PM any special requests and I'll bring it with me Saturday.
I will do my best to make it, dfinn or not.
This is going to be dope. I can't wait to vomit all over you guys. :yourock:
Anyone bringing a BBQ, by chance? I'd love to make some duck balls for all to enjoy.
Dammit this would have been a good weekend to haul on down and bust my Moab cherry.
Oh well.
I'm definitely in. AGs, I hear you're going to get down there first. Would you mind holding a spot for shmoesmith and myself? I'm guessing we'll be down there sometime around 1am Friday night/Saturday morning.
Guess it is going to be an AS-X trip since I don't have my 29'er back.
We'll do our best to find the world's biggest campsite. No promises - it's been crazy crowded down there lately.
That said - I reserved Kyle to shuttle us on Saturday and we're over-full, and that's with phatfreeheeler and his crew self shuttling. Some of the late committers are going to have to call Coyote or something...
^ what time is the shuttle you reserved? I'll call the other shop(s) and see if I can find something at the same time.
10am, D.
As an FYI - last weekend we tried to 'reserve' a shuttle through Poison Spider. They didn't take reservations, but told us to show up 15 minutes early. We showed up a half hour early and made it on the first shuttle. They filled two vans and and turned some people away. I guess they usually use Kyle as a backup, but he was booked too.
You would think Wally World was closed by the reactions of some of the people that didn't get on shuttles. Funny, though - one guy was like, "Oh, don't worry about me, I'll just ride the road." Like it was no big deal. Seriously, for me, that wouldn't even be an option!
I don't have a lot of experience with other shuttle companies, but avoid the Coyote Unimog if you can - it's SO SLOW! :)
thanks for the info. I'll start making calls in a couple of hours, I've got some new skis to go get mounted at BC.com :)
Does anyone else need me to try and make a reservation for them?
Everything Coyote runs is slow. The stretch Vanagon is cool for novelty the first time, but after that it's just annoying. Walking would be faster than that deuce and a half.
Seriously, by the time Coyote has you at the drop-off, Kyle will be back in town.
Sorry for the pissy hijack, but I'm out for Friday and am bummed.
So here's who I have on Kyle's shuttle (Acme)
Me
Mr.AG
Inspector Gadget
Reverend Floater
Jimmy Page
shortyadam
particle
otter
dantheman
altachic
conundrum
Dave (non mag?)
yentna
skimonkey
And that's all that one holds.
Revs gonna be so pissed when he finds out I'll be in Fruita. Its like I've been avoiding him on purpose for a few years now. But I'll keep the BBQ warm for ya. Head on over to Rabbit Valley for some pork log if you're hungry.
IMPORTANT UPDATE: There will be NO Smith tent so just look for the weird people and lots of cars. The tents went to Fruita, unfortunately.
ok, Coyote sounds lame and PS doesn't take reservations. Does anyone else know of any other shuttle services?
PS will probably work for you, just get there early, and be agressive about talking to the drivers if there's a crowd.
I was so hurt you didn't save me a shuttle spot, I pulled a Kathy Bates on my ankles. :D Oh, and also because the kid is sick again and I can't ditch the 'lil lady. I am super bummed that I won't get to see this --> :yourock: <-- in person.
Hey, you two better save up some of that Moab gusto, cause next weekend is a GO!
